Tips for the Driving Test

Two or three days before you take your driving test it appears like there is nothing more you need to know. You already practiced every driving situation, every possible parking. To still provide some help, here is an article I wrote that includes some last minute tips to help you.

Pass the DMV Road Test - Here Are Some Tips to Help You

DMV road tests normally last for about twenty minutes or so. During those twenty minutes, you'll need to prove that you're a good driver, and that you're ready for your license. You may even get nervous and make a few mistakes. Yes, your examiner will be in the car with you, and he or she will be watching your every move, but it's to ensure that you drive safely and responsibly. Once you prove that you know how to do just that, you'll be given your drivers license!

Your examiner will WANT you to pass. If you have studied, practiced, and prepared well enough, you should have nothing to worry about. From the moment you pass your written test and earn your learning permit, you need to prepare so that you'll pass the DMV road test. You can do this by pretending that your licensed passenger is your examiner. Have him or her to watch every move you make, including your turns, stops, parallel parking, backing up, parking, etc.

You also need to make sure that you understand all the laws in your state. Remember, laws vary from state to state, and in some cases, county to county. Make sure you're well aware of: the speed limits in your area, parking laws, crosswalks, and so forth.

In order to make sure that you pass the DMV road test, you should get yourself some online driver's education as well. You can receive driving secrets and tips online that aren't found anywhere else. Failure is horrible; therefore it's in your best interest to pass the DMV road test. You need to practice and study. You need to have the knowledge that your examiner will have. The only way to ensure that you do is by reading the secrets and techniques online.

The secrets, techniques, and tips that you'll need for passing the DMV road test can be found at Nadav's driving test guide. You will need this guide if you truly want to pass the DMV road test ASAP! This online driving guide is your best bet for passing!

Hope you found it useful.

First Time Driving: Alex

"When you drive, don't you get scared?" Well, not when I drive in an empty parking lot. However, it turns out that Alex, this week's first time driver, doesn't think so. Watch Alex reversing and driving forward at scary speeds of 20 miles per hour.

This video was uploaded on January 7 of this year, so Alex still has a very long way to go. She will do well by then, she looks like one who understands quickly. Hopefully she doesn't forget to get herself a good guide.

Good luck!

No More DUIs

Manatee and Sarasota prosecuters will soon face difficulties using breath-test results to determine whether someone is drunk or not. Why? Because people want to have a look at the code of the machines that determine whether someone is drunk or not.

If their claim is accepted, many defendants at DUI trials could escape the punishment by claiming that the test results are inaccurate. Needless to say, this could bring a serious problem to Florida's battle against drunk driving.

Don't drink and drive, even if the computer can make a mistake.

Failing Reasons

Many people fail their driving test every year. In fact, more than half of the US population failed its first driving test. There are many reasons for this failure, but here are the top 10 ones, as brought by Charles Cridland. Please notice that it's written for the UK.

Top 10 Reasons Why People Fail Their Driving Test

Every year more than 100,000 people fail their driving test in the UK. The pass rate is only 43%, with it even lower for first time candidates. Men are more likely than woman to pass first time, yet interestingly they are statistically more dangerous drivers. Nonetheless, the overall pass rate is still very low, particularly when almost everyone who takes their test feels that they can drive. Therefore we’ve compiled the top 10 reasons why people fail their driving test:

1. Acting improperly at road junctions. Get in the right lane when approaching a junction or roundabout. Always indicate.

2. Manoeuvre – reversing around a corner incorrectly. Being confident with your manoeuvres is vitally important. Practice really does make perfect so continue practicing them intensively.
3. Incorrect Steering. Remember to feed the steering through your hands. Do this whenever you drive to ensure that it comes naturally.

4. Manoeuvre – problems with parking. Again practice makes perfect. If in doubt it’s best to be further away from the kerb.

5. Not using gears properly. As a general rule, move into 2nd gear as soon as you move from stationary, 3rd gear at 20mph, 4th gear at 30mph, and 5th gear at 40mph.

6. Under-using your mirrors. This is a common mistake. When it comes to your driving test you really can’t look in your mirrors enough.

7. Driving too slowly. Driving too slowly is seen as a sign of being lacking confidence. Drive at or just under the speed limit.

8. Acting incorrectly when turning right. Indicate early and don’t force your way out by pulling out half way.

9. Hesitating unnecessarily at junctions. Again, unnecessary hesitation is seen as a sign that you lack confidence in your driving ability. However, don’t rush – impatience is worse than hesitation.

10. Moving out correctly from stationary positions. Many people successfully complete a manoeuvre or emergency stop, then relax and forget to pull away correctly. Always indicate, check that the road is clear using your mirrors and by looking back, then pull out.

Charles Cridland founded the parking website YourParkingSpace.co.uk, a site where you can earn money through renting out your private parking space, or find long term parking spaces and garages for rent.

Knowing When to Say No

I really love driving. The easiest way to get me to do something is waving the car keys in front of me and asking me to drive there. However, over the years, I have developed a skill as important as driving. The skill to say "No".

This skill is vital for your life. Sometimes you are tired, drunk, or just incapable of driving. However, you are not always aware of that. I, for example, don't drink (really). The only thing that can harm me in that sense is being tired (and if you noticed, I'm very tired lately). When I get this feeling, I know to say "No, you drive. I can't". Believe me, saying this saved my life.

Say "No" when you need to. Enjoy your driving as much as you can, but don't let it risk your life that much. Learn to say "No".

Have a great weekend,

Motorists - Prepare for a New Driving Test

Until now, motorists and motorcyclists in Alberta took their driving test in a parking lot, and they were tested by their own driving school. This is now going to change. Driving tests will now be on the road, with real road conditions, and not necessarily on the same driving school.

This new system is more objective and more logical. A parking lot is nothing near a road, and taking your test in your driving school is not really objective. The new system will be much better for everyone.

Let's hope it brings only good.

The Importance of Driving Lessons

When learning to drive, anyone should have some driving lessons with a professional. In some countries, you must learn with a licensed instructor the whole time, in others you can learn with your parents. Here is an article by Robert Yates about the importance of driving lessons.

Driving Lessons - Helping You Pass Your Test

Many people dream of taking to the road in their first car. However, before that dream can become a reality, you will need to take a number of driving lessons. By choosing an experienced, professional driving instructor, you can cut the number of lessons you need and increase your chances of passing when it comes to your test.

A driving instructor will help you prepare for the responsibility of becoming a driver. After all, when you are behind the wheel, you will have to watch out for not only your own safety but also any passengers you're carrying. You will also have to be aware of pedestrians, other drivers and any hazards on the road.

There are many different options to ensure you get the most from your driving lessons. For example:

• You can learn in an automatic, if you only want to learn how to drive a car with automatic gears.
• If you want to learn to drive in a short period of time, you can register for an intensive, residential driving course.
• You can practise between lessons with family or friends who can drive. This will probably be more relaxed and gives you more experience on the road.

Whatever option you choose, an extensive course of driving lessons is vital if you hope to pass your test. When you choose a driving instructor, make sure they are an experienced professional, and that you feel comfortable with them. After all, the instructor will guide you through your driving lessons, giving advice on:

• Ways to build confidence.
• Working on any weaknesses.
• Passing the theory, hazard perception and practical tests.
• Refresher courses that are available after you pass your test.

It is natural that you will feel nervous before your driving test. However, if you have taken enough lessons with an experienced driving instructor, you should be able to conquer your nerves and pass with flying colours.

Robert Yates is an experienced writer, highly interested in driving instruction. He has written extensively about finding the right driving instructor and how this can help your driving lessons.

Source: EzineArticles.com.

Of course, after you finish your courses, don't forget about getting a driving test guide to keep practicing the right moves with your parents.

Hundreds of people die because of wrong passing, and thousands are injured. Here is a video by the California DMV that will help you gain some insight about the dangers of this maneuver.

Air Conditioning: A Critical Issue

What is the most important part of the car? I don't mean parts like the wheel or the brakes, which we can't drive without. I mean the less critical parts, like air conditioning. It turns out that those tiny switches can really make a difference in my driving.

It's really cold outside, and when I enter the car, it's still cold. The only thing I want to do when I start the car is turn on the air conditioner, but I wait. When the engine heats up, I get free hot air right into my face and hands, where I need it.

However, after a few minutes, it's getting stuffy, and I lower the temperature until I reach the really cold ones. This cycle continues throughout the whole drive, until I park the car. When I go back in, the process continues.

It's much better the summer driving, where I put the air conditioner on full power and lowest temperature, just to drive for 600 meters. It's really hard to drive during summer here.

"Pass your Driving Test", my guide, puts an emphasis on the air conditioning since it's important. If you feel comfortable, you are all set for a good drive.

Stay Away From Driving Tests

Driving tests are usually very safe, thanks to the examiners' watch and the careful driving of the one being tested. However, it doesn't always happen. A woman taking her test in New York sent a bystander to hospital.

On New Year's Eve, Wednesday morning, the woman was taking her driving test in a snowy area. She was going around a corner when she lost contact with the road and hit a person cleaning his car. The second set of brakes, the examiner's set, didn't work.

If she was taking the test in California, she would fail for hitting a person and making a dangerous maneuver. However, her test result is yet to be determined. Unbelievable.

She should definitely read my driving test guide if she wants to pass her next test.

The Legal Alcohol Limit (BAC)

Alcohol, as I say over and over, is not for drivers. However, some people think it's safe to drink, even a little, and drive. I disagree. Here is an article about legal BAC limits in several countries, written by Amy Nutt. The legal limit, however, should be zero.

Legal Alcohol Limit and Driving - Are All Countries the Same?

The legal alcohol limit when driving is based on the blood alcohol content of one's blood. The blood alcohol content (BAC) is a measure of how much alcohol is in the blood. When it exceeds a certain percentage, then it is not deemed safe to drive. There are many different factors that conclude what one's BAC is, so it can sometimes be confusing. But with such devices as breathalyzers that can be utilized on site when a person is pulled over, figuring it becomes considerably easier.

However, it is figured mathematically but is nowhere as near to accurate as the breathalyzers. If these details are known, the easiest way to figure BAC is by taking the amount of alcohol that was consumed and dividing that by the total amount of water in the body. Alcohol dehydrates the body, so if one takes into consideration that a 150 pound woman has 73.5 pounds of water in her body and uses that number to divide into the amount of alcohol consumed, one could successfully calculate their BAC and also figure out how much water their body is lacking due to alcohol consumption.

A BAC of .20% means a person is extremely intoxicated. In fact, they are so intoxicated that if they were drinking for the first time in their life, they would have never made it to a BAC of .20% because they would've passed out by .15%. A person this intoxicated is in a state in which they can, under no circumstances, operate a motor vehicle. Even at .01% a person may not pass all sobriety tests despite the fact that they look normal. However in various places around the world, the legal alcohol limit for driving varies. Some have absolutely no tolerance for it while others do to a certain extent. Sometimes the tolerance extends to just a couple of drinks to no more than the standard dose of cough syrup. That is why it is important to be vigilant about the legal alcohol limit in the area in which you are drinking, especially if you intend on driving. If you exceed the limit, then you probably need to get a cab.

The legal alcohol limit for driving throughout the world:

• The standard BAC for the United States is .08% but can vary from state to state. Operators of busses and other such carriers are allowed a BAC of .01% and pilots are allowed a BAC of .04% within 8 hours of consuming alcohol.

• United Kingdom: .08%

• France: .05%

• Germany: .05%

• Australia: .05%

• Canada has a standard BAC of .08%, but has a legal limit of .04% in Manitoba. However, drivers in Ontario with G1 and G2 licenses have a limit of zero.

• Japan: .015%

• Mexico: .08%

• Norway: .02%

• Russia: .02%

How much alcohol is left in a person's system depends on how quickly they metabolize or excrete it. Two people who have had the same amount of alcohol may not display the same reading on a BAC test. Their size and weight as well as how fast their body processes it has a huge influence. So even if a person feels fine, they may not be fine. People have different tolerances, so it is good to always be safe rather than be sorry and risk arrest for being over the legal alcohol limit while operating a motor vehicle. Doing so can also be very hazardous, especially if you happen to be in a rental car or rental truck. Many have been killed by others who have gone out to have a good time and not arranged a designated driver or took a cab. It is fair to say that legal alcohol limits are in place in order to keep people alive.

Occasional Driving

I like to drive. You probably know that already. It's a big hobby I have. I almost never reject a driving task. However, I have a problem. For a few months now, I can drive only on weekends, and that's really annoying.

Driving only occasionally brings in many bad things, like re-adjustment to driving. It turns out that long periods of not touching a car really affect your driving. I find it true every week, when I am able to drive again. Sometimes I can't drive for longer periods, and then the effect is much stronger.

Practice driving consistently. It's the only way to improve and get better.

Get Cheap Teen Car Insurance

Insurance is the last barrier stopping teens from driving after they have their license. However, there are still some ways to get it cheap. Here is an article by Maria Mbura that will explain how to do it.

Your Tips to Cheap Car Insurance For Teens

Most teens looking into car insurance may be finding that the rates for car insurance for teens can be quite high. However, despite the rates being generally higher, it is still possible to find cheap car insurance for teens- you just have to know where to look.

Car insurance for teens is designed to protect teenage drivers specifically. It differs from other insurance policies only in the fact that it usually has a higher interest rate. So just why is this?

Teenage drivers are inexperienced. They may have passed their test, but they are still new to driving. To an insurer this means that the likelihood of them having an accident is quite high. Now you could argue that anybody no matter what their age who just passes their driving test is a liability. However statistically that is not the case and that is what insurers look at.

Teenage drivers are twice as likely to have an accident within their first year of driving, than a driver over the age of 25. There are a number of reasons for this. The main one is that teenagers do tend to drive faster and are a little more recklessly. Passing your test gives you freedom and it can be exciting driving along as fast as possible whilst listening to the car stereo. Not all teenage drivers will do this, but statistically that is what insurers find. So because teenagers are statistically more likely to have an accident, teen car insurance is often fairly expensive.

What You Can Do To Get Cheap Car Insurance for Teens?

Apart from higher rates, you still have the same options as any other driver when it comes to car insurance policy. You can choose to take out basic third party insurance, or you could add additional extras if you would prefer. For example, would you like to be protected in case your car gets stolen? You may automatically assume that this protection is included in your car insurance policy. However a lot of the time it isn't and you will need to read through your terms and conditions to see what is actually included in your policy.

There are some things that you can do to get cheap teen car insurance and that includes purchasing an older car. Your first car should never be anything too fancy or sporty; otherwise you will have to pay a fortune on insurance. So choose a sensible car until you can build up a no claims bonus. Then once you have been driving for a while, purchase a newer car and your insurance will not be through the roof.

Overall car insurance for teens can be expensive. If you look around however you should be able to find a few good deals to suit you. Remember that there are things that you can do to lower your insurance quote too. So even if you are a teenager, you can make certain changes that will lower your insurance rate.

If you are looking for Cheap Car Insurance For Teens a visit to http://carinsuranceukcheap.info/ will avail you all the information you want to get good deals.

Choose a Driving Guide

Practicing driving blindly, as you know, is not a recommended plan of action if you want to pass your test. In order to emphasize that, I wrote a series of articles showing parents why they need to get their kids a driving guide. Here is the first one.

Why Choose a Driving Guide?

Teaching your teenager how to drive can be quite stressful and overwhelming. Although you may have been driving for over twenty years, teaching someone else to drive is another thing entirely. Preparing them for the driving test adds a little bit more stress on you and your teenager, especially if they do not pass it the first time, so you are sure to want to do everything possible to prepare them for this test. A driving guide like Pass Your Driving Test can be just the tool that you need.

One benefit of getting your teenager a driving guide is that there is something for them to refer back to when they are learning how to drive. This can allow them to learn more fully the information that they need to become a safe driver. This includes safe driving skills and road rules that they need to become a good driver.

Pass Your Driving Test driving guide will give your teenager the information that they need to pass their driving test the first time. Most people fail their driving test simply because they are not prepared. By preparing your teenager, you can keep them safer while driving and help them to pass their driving test the first time.

If you are not looking forward to teaching your teenager how to drive, know that you have other options. By using a driving guide, like Pass Your Driving Test, you can help them to learn all of the skills and information that they need to drive safely. This can decrease your stress in the learning process and can help make it a better experience for you and your teenager. Consider a driving guide for your teenager today!

Don't hesitate. Get Pass Your Driving Test today and save money on expensive driving instructors and re-tests.
