Brake Drivers

There's something that I see almost everyday when I drive, and I still haven't figured it out. I see people driving on perfectly flat and horizontal roads with the brakes. Slowly. Very slowly.

This weird driving is something that really annoys other drivers, mainly because it makes the entire traffic slower, especially when it's done in the left lane. It's even more annoying because the drivers doing that are not aware.

Most of the time they talk on the phone, but sometimes I see drivers with no apparent signs of distraction doing this weird thing. If someone has a clue, feel free to write here.

Have a great weekend,

Gain Confidence With Tips

Earlier this week, Francis Murphy gave us tips on passing the driving test. Today I have some tips of my own. These tips will really help you gain confidence, so you will be able to pass easily.

Driver's Test Tips That Will Help You Gain Confidence and Pass!

If you are planning to take your driver's test soon, you're undoubtedly feeling nervous. Hopefully, you'll find all the information you need online about how to pass your test. The internet is filled with resources and tools to help you learn and understand all the rules. An online driving course will provide you with the knowledge you need for passing.

You can also study these tips:

· Make sure the person with whom you practice is somebody you can trust and respect. This person should also be calm, yet attentive when in the car with you. Never practice with somebody who will be nervous than you!

· Plan out your practice routes ahead of time to ensure you experience various traffic patterns and signs. You should begin at a quiet area without a traffic and build up your confidence slowly.

· Spend some time visualizing yourself driving. This can be done anywhere at any time. Just close your eyes and visualize yourself in the driver's seat facing a variety of situations. Imagine yourself dealing with even the most technical details. You'll be surprised at how effective visualization can be!

· Use online resources that are designed to help student drivers. Believe it or not, you can learn a lot from online driving courses! There are simulation games, how-to videos, and practice tests you can take.

· Ask others what they were examined on. Find out what the examiner will be watching you for. Some of them actually share information and secrets online about what they look for during testing. Just look online for some driver's test secrets! You'll be surprised about what you can learn.

Do all of these and hopefully you'll pass your test without any trouble. The more you study and practice, the more confidence you will gain. Confidence is something you will definitely need in order to pass!

When taking your driver's road test, it's important that you stay as calm and confident as possible. By reading driving tips online and taking advantage of resources and tools, you'll gain the confidence that you need.

Hopefully these tips will help you.

60 Strikes and You're Out

Michael Lawrence is a man who never gets tired of appearing in court. Last month, on December 1, a vehicle driven by him rear ended another vehicle. The police found some beer bottles in his car, and he was accused of drunk driving and driving while disqualified.

A month later, on New Year's Eve, Lawrence did it again. This time he was so drunk, that he had to be helped out of his car. Some people never learn, but in this case, it's dangerous.

After this case, Lawrence admitted he has a problem (oh, really?) and was banned for life from driving. Will it stop him in the future? Unlikely. People like him tend to commit the crime again and again.

Be careful if you're near him.

NEVER drink and drive!

Passing Mark Tips

Everyone wants a passing mark when taking the driving test, but many fail. Francis Murphy wants to change this situation, and she does it with a well written article filled with driving test tips.

Road Test Tips For a Passing Mark

The best Road Test tip is to approach the test with a relaxed mind. Clarity of thought is one of the key aspects to pass. Just treat it like you are in one of your training sessions and drive confidently and be relaxed. Here's a summary of the Road Test Tips for your reference;

a. Pre-driving tips: It is important to position yourself up-right in the driver's seat, setting the mirror to ensure you can get a clear nice view of your surroundings on the road. Ensure the oil, water, tires, lights, reflectors, mirrors and brakes are working well. Fasten your safety belt before you start the car.

b. While driving tips: keep on a calm and smiling face. Drive slowly and steadily. Listen carefully to the instructions given. Ask for confirmation if you did not catch the instruction clearly and don't be scared to ask for reconfirmation. Concentrate on your driving all the time. Make sure that adequate warm up is carrying out before you switch the gears. Smooth use of the clutch and gears will make a good impression to the examiner.

c. Turning tips: remember to turn on your right or left indicator at least some 20m ahead of the junction you wanted to turn to. At times, you will be asked on the use of the fire-extinguisher and the dim lights. You must know your vehicle and the emergency sign as well as the use of emergency kits.

d. Backing and Parking tips: Parking and Backing are equivalently as important as Driving. A well trained driver will be able to park in a safe and designated parking lot, using the proper warning signs and steps. A good driver will also be able to tell if his car would adequately get into the parking lot or otherwise.

e. Climbing up a slope: Make sure you change to low gear when you need to drive up a slope. Pull on your clutch if you need to halt on the slope to keep the car from sliding down.

f. Attitude during the testing: Nervousness is what caused one to fail in any Road Test. Try not to get panic even if you may have done something wrong as small mistakes are unavoidable sometimes. A good driver stays calm behind the wheels and be observant at the same time.

At the end of this article, I'd like to share cool websites with more tips on topics like road test tips and how to build a rat rod. Visit for more information.

With so many tips in this article and my driving test guide, you have a much better chance of passing.

Don't Freeze and Drive

Today I don't have a big story. I have just a little anecdote I'd like to share about something completely meaningless that happened to me.

What happened is that: I found out that I should never drive when I'm cold. No, I'm not sick and I wasn't sick. I just forgot that it's winter out there, and even though it can get super hot during the day, it's really cold at night.

What's the conclusion? Never do that again. During the first five minutes of driving I was concentrating on the air conditioner. Like in the summer, but for the exact opposite reasons.

Don't freeze and drive!

Preparing Mentally and Emotionally

When you take your driving test, you need to be ready. Ready does not mean only knowing how to drive, but also being prepared mentally and emotionally. How? Here is an article I wrote about this topic.

Tips For Getting Your Driver's License - How to Prepare For the Test Mentally and Emotionally

Everybody wants to pass their driver's exam on the first attempt, but not everyone is able to. It doesn't involve luck, either; whether you pass or not depends on how prepared you are and how much you learn beforehand. You need to pass both the written and road exams in order to get your license. The first is easier than the latter, so you need to study and practice extra hard in order to pass the road test.

So, how can you prepare yourself? The most obvious solution is to practice driving every single day. However, you can also learn some secrets, such as the things the examiner will be watching for. There are a lot of resources available on the internet filled with driving test secrets and tips that you'll need to know in order to pass easily. Your DMV handbook that you have only offers some information. The test will require a lot more knowledge.

All the additional resources you'll need for passing can be found online, including secrets, tips, videos, simulation software, and so forth. There are also practice tests you can take. They're not only helpful for passing the written exam, but the road test as well. This is because some of the questions pertain to the things you should and shouldn't do when taking road exam.

Even if you know everything, you still need to prepare you emotionally for the road test. For some, nervousness is the main contributing factor to whether they fail or pass. As such, you need to take things easy to night and morning before the test. Make sure you study well beforehand and don't try cramming anything in your mind the last night. Eat breakfast, even if you don't feel like doing so. It'll provide you with the energy you need to help fight anxiety. Being well prepared, rested, and fed are the keys to passing your driving test and getting your driver's license.

Check out all the driver's test secrets, guides, and tips online. Prepare yourself mentally and emotionally, so that you'll be able to pass with ease. There are plenty of free driving tips and secrets online for you to check out that will provide you with more information than the basic handbook.

For some weird reason, the was afraid of the police. They're not going to stop anyone going 1 mile per hour in a parking lot.

Some More DMV Information

DMV.com is one of the biggest driving websites out there. It has information of all USA states' DMVs with exact locations and operating hours. Eunice Fernand, who works for this site, wrote an article about the DMV's requirements from new drivers.

How to Prepare For Your Driving Test at the DMV

If you're like most people, you're probably very excited at the prospect of getting your driver's license. You can't wait to get to the DMV take the test, pass the test, get your picture taken, and then get your very own driver's license. There are a few things to keep in mind, however, and a few things you can do to help prepare for your tests.

The test will most likely consist of two parts: the written test, and the driving test.

The written portion - This will be a test on many rules of driving, which may include such situations as what to do when you come to an unmarked intersection, or which way to turn the steering wheel when you park against a curb, or what a safe following distance is behind the car in front of you. You can find study aids online and in the classroom that can help you prepare for this.

The driving portion - This is the part that some people get nervous for; you have to drive with the instructor in the car, and you need to do nearly everything correctly. People get nervous for this because, even though they've done everything 100s of times already, during the driving test is when it actually counts and that can cause performance anxiety. Just remember that you've already done all of this before and you have nothing to worry about. The instructor is your friend and he wants you to pass.

If you take driver's education class at your high school, it is possible that your school may have an agreement with the local DMV where if you pass the class with a certain grade or higher you may be exempt from having to actually take the test at the DMV. If you are fortunate enough for this to be the case, it should definitely provide you with the motivation to do well in the class so you don't have to take the test again.

Please visit this link to learn more about your local DMV and to get information about the driving laws in your state, find some practice tests online, and learn about how to register your car in your state.

Never forget that a good driving test guide can focus you further on the requirements to pass a driving test.

Good luck,

Real Life Rush Hour Game

Rush Hour is a great thinking game. It gives you a certain way to arrange cars, and you need to get out your car, the red one, according to several rules. The final levels can be quite challenging, but everything can be solved.

In real life, the rules of parking spots are very similar, but there are a few differences: your car can turn left and right, and the most important rule: your car can't touch anything. Now try to imagine getting out your car (red) in a real situation like that:

Of course, the other cars and trucks move, but it's hard. Apparently, some people are so ignorant and blind that they cause these situations without noticing, and getting out of your car becomes virtually impossible.
I only had these cases a few times, but it's annoying every time. People should really learn how to park without blocking anyone else.
Have a great weekend!

Mistakes to Avoid If You Want to Pass

This blog is open for almost two years, and there have been tons of articles about driving mistakes to avoid in order to pass. Well, today there is another one. It's always good to have a reminder.

Driving Test Mistakes You Need to Avoid in Order to Pass!

When preparing for your driver's test, you're undoubtedly trying to digest a lot of information about what you need to do in order to pass. You are studying and practicing every single day in hopes of getting everything right in front of your examiner. However, have you ever put any thought into the things you SHOULDN'T do?

There is a lot of information out there that will help you, but you might find that focusing your studies on things that you shouldn't do can make preparing for your driver's test a bit easier. Learn about the mistakes that other students make when they fail and you'll be less likely to make them yourself. Here are a few things that you should NOT do when taking your driver's test:

· Forgetting any of the controls. One common mistake that many student drivers make is forgetting what certain controls are for. Don't bother to take your test if you're not 100% confident that you know where all the controls are located and what they are for.

· Braking too hard. Whatever you do, always be careful when braking. Remove your foot slowly from the accelerator as early as possible. Coast gently and lightly---you will lose points if you don't.

· Forgetting to slow down when you should or slowing down when you should not. Always make sure you're going the speed limit, unless you need to slow down for a stop. Whenever you change lanes, try going the same speed as other drivers. It's a common mistake for people to think they have to slow down when changing lanes, so make sure you don't do this.

· Staring at the wheel or your hands. Your eyes should be observing your surroundings at all times. Know what is in front of you, to the sides, and behind you. Know where your eyes should be and when.

Don't make these mistakes and hopefully you'll pass your driver's license test!

If you want to learn more, check out some driving test tips. Learn about the secrets of driving that will make your test go smoothly. If you understand common mistakes that other people make, you won't have to worry about making them yourself during your driver's license exam!

So, here you go. Now you just need to apply.

Starting January (well, eleven days ago), getting a license in India will become a little more challenging. Why? Because, the RTO, Regional Transport Office, is now conducting simulator tests.

The purpose of these simulators is to test the driving skills of people who apply for the test. The simulator will have real life scenarios, like rain or bad roads. The performance at these tests will help to determine the result of the driving test.

Parents: Teach the Difference Between Privilege and Right

Parenting is not easy, especially if you have teenagers. One of the issues that causes many arguments is having a car and driving. Luckily for you, Jeff Herring wrote an article about this issue, so it will be easier for you.

Parenting Your Teenager: Driving and Having a Car is a Privilege, Not a Right

Q. My teenage son is turning 16 early next year and he's already lobbying us for a new car. He says all his friends are getting new cars, that he deserves one because it's his right when he turns 16, and he won't drive what he calls a POS car. Do you think he is trying to manipulate us, and what do you think we should do? And since he won't tell us what a POS car is, do you know?

A. What to do depends on what you want to accomplish.

If you want to teach your son that he can pester and manipulate you into giving him his way, then by all means get him a new car.

I know that's not what you want to teach him though.

What you have is an excellent opportunity to teach some important life lessons.
But first, let's get that POS question out of the way. POS stands for "piece of s---" and is just another one of your son's tools in his manipulation bag.

Rwo Important Life Privileges

There are at least two important principles to teach in this situation.

The first is the vast difference between rights and privileges.

Your son believes that getting a new car is his right as a 16-year-old. It's not. In fact, turning 16 does not even entitle you to a driver's license. It does make you eligible for the privilege of getting a driver's license.

Fostering the belief that privileges are in fact rights leads to a raging sense of entitlement.

Fostering a belief in privileges leads to a rare sense of ownership, appreciation and perhaps even stewardship, which is taking good care of what you have.
The second principle is the sometimes hazy difference between wants and needs.
A need is a "must have" for survival, or to accomplish something important. A want is something you would like to have but can live without.

Your son might need a car to get safely from place A to place B and you may also want to stop chauffeuring him. He may want a new car, but he does not need one. Even if you can afford to give him a new car, I think that would do him more harm than good.
Sit down with your son and tell him that you have discovered what a POS car is and assure him you have no intention of getting him one.

Similarly, you have no intention of getting him a new car either. Briefly - and I mean short and sweet briefly - explain the difference between rights and privileges and wants and needs.
Then tell him that you will be glad to help him find a Point A-to-Point B car.
If he wants anything better, tell him that for each dollar that he saves over the price of a basic Point A-to-Point B car, you will match it.

He will not walk away from this conversation jumping for joy.
He will walk away with the beginning of some very important life lessons, which is really the best 16th birthday present you could get him.

Jeff invites you to visit ParentingYourTeenager.com for 100's of tips and tools for parenting through the teenage years. You can also subscribe to his free weekly internet newsletter "ParentingYourTeenager."

After agreeing about all these issues, don't forget to get a driving test guide, so your teenager will pass the first time.

Another Tired Driving

Driving tired is one of the biggest risks being taken by drivers, along with drunk driving. When you are tired your vision is blurry, you don't think clearly, and, well, you react just like if you're drunk. The only difference is that you can't be charged with DUI when driving tired.

Last week, on New Year's eve, I made this mistake again. I'm not perfect, I know, but sometimes I make really stupid decisions. Nothing happened, and I wasn't even close to something, but this is one of the most dangerous nights of the year, and I should've been more careful.

However, I didn't drink. This is a really big red line for me. Alcohol and the driver's seat don't go together when I drive. Not even a sip. If I was drinking on December 31, I would've probably ended crashed into a wall.

Drive safely!

A Step-By-Step Guide to Your Driving Success

When learning to drive, some people can just enter a car and start driving. Others need some guidance, and exactly for that there are some guides online. Here is an article I wrote about it.

An Online Step-By-Step Driving Guide Will Help You Pass Your Test With No Problems!

Getting through a driver's test doesn't have to be a rough experience. Even if you're nervous, you should still be able to maintain enough calmness to get through it successfully. All you need to do is learn and understand all the rules. After understanding them, you should implement them in your practice so that you can prepare for the big day.

It's important for you to learn exactly what will be expected of you during the driving test. You can do this by looking online for secrets, many of which are submitted by the DMV examiners themselves. Many of them are very helpful and provide tips online to help out those who want to get their driver's license. Contrary to what you might think, they really want you to pass, and will even share tips with you to help you out.

Oftentimes, student drivers will let their nerves get in the way and will consequently fail. If you don't want this to happen to you, you need to prepare yourself as much as possible so that you don't feel all that nervous. You probably will feel some nervousness, but you can decrease the fear and intimidation by studying, learning, and practicing as much as possible.

Keep in mind that the basic driver's handbook that you've undoubtedly received will only teach you so much. If you really want to pass the test with ease, you need to look at a step-by-step guide that will teach you how to get through the entirety of the exam. There are interactive guides and courses online that will make learning how to drive easy and fun. You can supplement your education with a good online program. This will prepare you for the day so that you'll be able to keep your nerves at a low.

More than 50% of student drivers fail their first driver's license test. If you haven't taken yours yet, you can ensure that you don't fall into that group who fail by taking an online driving course! If you have taken it and failed already, you need to learn from your mistakes so that you pass with flying colors the next time you take your driving road test!

Hopefully you will find my guide useful for your success.

Yes, a new driving test. Apparently, if someone causes three crashes, he or she is not eligible to be on the road. People go on the roads for years without a single crash, so three crashes in three years is definitely outside the statistic probabilty.

Don't Drive Carelessly in Ontario

In Ontario, one of the most serious driving offences is careless driving. The definition of this crime is very clear, and it can be easily understood from the name. Amy Nutt wrote about this crime and what you can do when it happens to you.

Careless Driving Law in Ontario

In Ontario, careless driving laws involve strict and serious enforcement. Although a common offence, careless driving infractions can have serious consequences if a driver is convicted of a particular offence. It is important to be aware of the ramifications if you are convicted of a careless driving violation.

Careless Driving as outlined in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) states:

"130. Every person is guilty of the offence of driving carelessly who drives a vehicle or street car on a highway without due care and attention or without reasonable consideration for other persons using the highway and on conviction is liable to a fine of not less than $200 and not more than $1,000 or to imprisonment for a term of not more than six months, or to both, and in addition his or her license or permit may be suspended for a period of not more than two years. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 130."

Penalties in Ontario can include "6 Demerit Points, fine not less than $200 and not more than $1000, imprisonment for a period of not more than 6 months. The Driver's license may also be suspended for a period of up to 2 years." If a driver accrues 15 demerit points, the driver's license will be suspended.

The types of careless driving charges that a driver can receive are careless driving without a fine and careless driving with a fine.

1. Driving with a fine printed on the ticket will result in 6 demerit points applied to a driver's license and a minimum fine of $325. If you receive this fine, you have the option to plead guilty, plead guilty with a reason, or plead not guilty. Six demerit points will be applied to a driver's record when pleading guilty. This will result in an increase in auto insurance premiums. One could end up paying hundreds of dollars or even thousands of dollars a year because the insurance company will consider them a high risk driver. The company may also cancel the driver's insurance policy, even if a driver has just one offence. Insurance companies have access to your driving record for the past three years, as well as the past six years for claims.

2. A ticket without a fine attached is a summons to go to court to answer to the charges. Convictions can result in fines of up to $1000.00, jail time of up to 6 months, or a suspension of a driver's license of up to two years.

It is a serious matter when one is convicted of a careless driving offence. It can raise your insurance costs, result in a driver's license suspension, and even result in jail time. It is important to be aware of the consequences before you drive. If you do receive a ticket, you should consult with an expert in traffic violations so that you will know what your best options are to resolve the problem. A professional such as an attorney will be able to let you know if you should fight the charge. To avoid dealing with a careless driving charge, practice safe and careful driving techniques.

This type of driving offence is one of the most serious charges under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. Make sure you take great care when you are on the road.

Do you need a DUI Lawyer Toronto or criminal lawyer Toronto? Our experienced team of lawyers, paralegals and former police officers can assist you with impaired driving, excess blood alcohol, dangerous driving, assault, drugs or weapons offences are all serious charges.

Source: EzineArticles.com.

Don't find yourself charged with this offence. Not in Ontario and not everywhere else. It's not worth it.
