Never Leave Your Car Running Alone

Cars sometimes have feelings. If you leave them alone, they might start driving on their own. Especially when leaving them running on reverse. For the end of October, here is a fantastic video showing exactly what can happen.

Hopefully you won't do such nonsense on November!

Better Safe and Sorry?

Everyone heard, at least once, "better safe than sorry". This is true for almost everything. But when it comes to driving, some people take this sentence way too far. Far enough to become safe and sorry.

For example, some people interpret this phrase as "drive 20 km/h below the speed limit" at the middle of the night, when there is no traffic. Doing so is annoying enough, and it night it becomes a real danger. Some people go over the speed limit, and the speed differences can be quite high. A crash at 50 km/h can be deadly.

On the road be smart and safe. Don't reduce your speed for no reason. It can be more dangerous than speeding.

Have a great weekend,

Q&A for the Test

Almost everyone who is planning to take the driving test has some questions about it. Here is an article I wrote about the most popular questions.

Driving Test Questions and Answers

First of all, when preparing for your driving test, you shouldn't be afraid. The inspector is not there to help you fail but to make sure you are not a threat to yourself and other drivers. Also, make sure you are well prepared, know what he is looking for, and be very alert. The inspector should treat you with respect and courtesy and be fair with you. If you encounter any problems, contact the office manager to resolve the situation. In any case, don't get nervous. The test lasts just 20 minutes, so you have nothing to worry about. Here are a few of the most common questions candidates ask us and here is what we answer.

Who must take the test? Well, the answer is pretty simple. People who don't have a license in another state (foreign licenses make no difference), people who have vision related problems, people who possess limited term licenses for physical and/or mental conditions, people who possess a provisional or probationary license, and people who have been licensed in another state but are unable to surrender the driving license.

Are driving test the same? Yes, tests for Class C driver licenses are the same for everyone. Adult drivers take the same test as teenage drivers do. If the driver has a physical or mental condition, special versions of driving tests may be used, containing additional elements.

How do I prepare for my test? First of all, you should get enough practice. Minors need at least 50 hours of behind the wheel training, 10 of which are required to be night driving. Whenever you practice, consider your accompanying driver an inspector and ask him to tell you where you made mistakes. Correct those mistakes! If you are confused, ask him to clarify the situation for you. Practice every driving maneuver available to make sure the examiner agrees with the fact that you can handle your vehicle under normal driving conditions. Always obey the rules of the road and never ever exceed the speed limit. Don't drive too close to the minimum limit either or the examiner will think you aren't skilled enough.

Last, but not least, you should get a good driving guide to help you with insight on what examiners look for and what they don't like to see. In such guides you can also find very useful tips and tricks, as well as general information about the test. The driving test guide can be your best help if you read it thoroughly.

In this article we have answered the most important questions when it comes to taking your first driving test. Regardless, you should get your own driving test guide to help you with useful advice and tips.

Hope it helped you,

Over-Surprising Test

Everyone who ever took a driving test has a weird story from the test. However, a teen from Lebanon, Cincinnati definitely has a leader. During his driving test, the examiner and he spotted a naked man walking down the street.

The man is Richard Stout, and apparently this isn't the first time he has done this. Once again, he was charged with public indecency and arrested him.

It is unknown wether the teen passed or not, but one thing is sure - he will never forget this test.

Some More Tips for the Test

Tips for the driving test never end, and luckily there are enough people to write about them. Today it's Brad Jamieson's turn to give his insights about the test.

How to Pass Your Driving Test - These Tips Can Help You Do It

Learning how to drive is a rite of passage all of us go through at some point. Knowing how to pass your driving test will help prevent you having to take the exam a number of times. You might not pass first time but if you follow these tips you should have passed by your second attempt.

I would recommend that you learn to drive using the services of a qualified instructor rather than a family member or friend. It is said that your partner should never teach you how to drive as you are quite likely to fall out numerous times during the lessons. But more importantly, learning how to drive an automobile from someone who isn't a qualified instructor can mean that you pick up their bad habits. Once you have been driving for any length of time, you will become lazy on certain things and while these habits won't cause an accident, they may cause you to fail your test. Driving to pass your test is slightly different from the way you will probably end up driving on a regular basis.

You need to get plenty of practice. It just isn't possible to pass a driving test without having put in hours of practice. There are certain maneuvers you need to get right as well as learning the theory side of the exam. You should never practice on your own. You will probably not be insured. Most States have legal requirements as to who can accompany learner drivers and you should find out what your local regulations are. You do not want to fall foul of the driving authorities before you have even taken your test.

Driving rules and regulations can differ considerably from State to State so it makes sense to become familiar with the requirements in your locality. Most States allow you to sit the test three times but if you fail on the third attempt, they will not allow you to sit the exam again for a certain period of time.

In most States you are required to pass a written exam as well as the practical driving test. There really is no excuse for not passing the written theory paper. There are plenty of books and guides teaching the material you need to know and let's face it, if more people knew the theory of driving, we would have fewer accidents on our roads. So don't let yourself down by failing to study properly. If you prefer an interactive method of study, you could chose to do an online driving course to help with your preparation.

You will be nervous taking the exam but that is to be expected. On the day of your test, relax and remember that so long as you have completed your lessons and practiced your new skills, you should be fine. Concentrate on the task in hand and forget about everything else. You can only do your best but with practice and application, you may just be able to forget about learning how to pass your driving test and concentrate on saving for your first automobile.

Summer Days Are Back

Summer is gone for over a month for the residents of the Northern Hemisphere, and still unbelievably hot days are here again.

This, of course, affects driving. I entered my car yesterday to find it showing 38°C (100°F). The first thing I did right after the engine started was to turn on the air conditioning on full power. Otherwise, I'd be cooked.

I know there is global warming, but why can't it come only in the summer? Why do we have to suffer summer driving in October?

Have What it Takes to Pass

Having what it takes to pass the driving test is not as easy as it sounds. It requires preparation, dedication, and time. Here is an article I wrote about getting everything to pass the test easily.

Do You Have What It Takes to Pass Your First Driving Test?

In order to pass your driving test successfully from the first try, you must be prepared. Do you have what it takes to pass your first driving test? If you are unsure, this article will shed some light on what you need to know and how you should prepare. First, we will begin with your practice. Before even thinking about taking a driving test, you must practice hands on with the car. You must drive and build confidence in your driving skills. You must make sure you always see road signs and traffic lights. If you miss even one traffic light, you will fail the test.

The examiner will be very polite and friendly, so there is no need to fear him. Fear yourself! He is there to ensure you are not a danger to yourself, to other drivers, or to pedestrians. This is why it is crucial that you always be on the lookout for signs, lights, and potential threats. Teach yourself to look in the mirrors regularly to prevent any car from taking you by surprise. The best way to drive is to drive defensively, anticipating any mistakes other drivers can make. This way you show your examiner that you are able to prevent an accident.

You will have to be confident in your driving skills, this is why you should drive around on each test route at least a few times (there are usually 10-15 test routes per driving center) until you are comfortable and know every street sign and light. You must also be able to park the car in tight spots. Don't imagine the inspector will ask you to squeeze it in impossible places, but it is best to have great parking skills. Further more, pay attention to details! Adjusting the seat to your body height and position, as well as adjusting the mirrors before you start the engine are signs of cautiousness. Don't forget to check to see if all doors are properly closed. We don't want to lose the examiner along the way do we?

Although these advices are the best you can get, you can find many more in a good driving test guide. You can find them quite easily and should read them thoroughly. You will learn what examiners want from you, how they expect you to behave, examples of common mistakes, things to avoid, and lots of insightful tips and tricks. A good driving test guide can make the difference between you taking the test in the first time and you failing it.

All you need are good driving skills, confidence in your ability to properly drive a vehicle, and a positive attitude. A good driving test guide is also extremely helpful, providing all the info you need to pass your first driving test. Don't be nervous, you won't fail!

Some People Shouldn't Pass

Last Wednesday, a Pennsylvania teenager proved that he doesn't deserve his license. What he did was very simple. He crashed into the driving test center right after he finished his test.

Ironicly, the crash happened when he was pulling over to let the examiner off the car. My guess is that he didn't pass.

Insurance for new drivers is very high, and insurance for those who drive for the first time is a wallet's worst nightmare. However, using some smart comparing, you can easily lower your prices. Here is an article by Gordon H. Smith about this topic.

What Examiners Are Looking For

Driving examiners, like you, are people, but they are people who have demands. Here is an article I wrote about those demands and how to meet them to get your license.

Things Driver Test Examiners Look After

If you want to make sure you pass your driving test from the first try, you should make sure you know what examiners are looking after when reviewing your skills. Examiners are very polite and respectful, but they screen your every move. Every mistake is seen and noted and, when enough mistakes are made, you will fail. And we are here to prevent that from happening. In this article, we will explain what a good examiner looks after and how you can get under his skin.

First of all, before you hit the road, there is one thing you must know. Examiners are people, and people are subjective. This means you need to be polite and full of courtesy. If you are somehow rude to him, he will not penalize you or show any sign or anger. But he will treat you harsher when you start making mistakes. So, treat him link you would treat somebody in your family and show him the respect he deserves. Now, the next thing to do once you get in the car with him is start checking for any signs of problem. Check to see if your seat is adjusted properly, if the mirrors are at the right angle, and if all doors are properly closed. Before you start the car, make sure you put your seat belt! Examiners want to see if you are taking the necessary precautions to ensure a safe ride for you and your passengers.

Once on the test route, make sure you never ever exceed the speed limit. The last thing the inspector wants to see is a candidate breaking the speed limit and breaking the law. However, that does not mean you must drive close to the minimum speed limit. That will only show the examiner that you are not confident enough in your driving skills. Always pay attention to road signs and traffic lights. You miss a traffic light, you fail the test. So don't be nervous, just be yourself and remember what you have learnt during your practice sessions.

Although it is generally good to follow the examiner's directions, pay attention to traps. He might tell you to park the car in a parking forbidden zone or something like that, just to see if you pay attention to road signs. And last, but not least, to make sure you know everything inspectors are looking for, get a driving test guide and read it thoroughly. You will find only good advice and tips from professionals who have insight in this domain.

Practicing for your driving test is very important, but without a proper driving test guide it becomes very hard. Get yourself a good guide and you will pass the test without sweating.

Hope this articles helped you.

Pass Your CDL Test

If you want to become a truck or bus driver, you will need a commercial driver's license, CDL. Passing this test is beyond my driving test guide's reach, but luckily Daniel J Edwards knows exactly what to do. Here is his article.

Commercial Drivers License - CDL - Pass Your Test

Commercial Drivers License, or more commonly known as CDL, is what we need to obtain employment driving a commercial vehicle. A commercial vehicle is a truck or bus (for hire) used to transport commercial goods or in case of the bus of course, people. To get a job driving a truck (a semi tractor / trailer or a truck with a gross vehicle weight over 26,000 pounds) or a bus, you must have a CDL. I have a CDL, but I'm not a professional driver, I'm a mechanic. I need my CDL to test drive the big rigs I repair.

Obtaining a CDL can be time consuming and expensive depending on you. If you don't have any experience driving a truck or bus you must get some kind of training. You don't have to go to a school if you know someone who already has a truck, and may be willing to teach you how to drive it, but you will still have to prove you can do it by taking a test. Many companies will also let you "gain experience" by apprenticeship, and some will even pay for the training, but in most cases, you really need to already have your CDL.

There are over 80 items that you must check on your truck before you go out on the road. This is called the "walk around". You must check these items to ensure safety, not only for you, but for the motorists around you. You don't need anything accidentally falling off of your truck while you are going down the road, or when you are trying to stop you find out your brakes are out of adjustment. You don't need to be a mechanic to test your truck, but you'll probably need one if you find something wrong, and the best time to find something wrong is during the walk around.

So you ask: How do I know what to check? Well the answer is you must study a book. Your local license branch has some free material that tells you what to check, but you may not know all of the terms. Items like "slack adjuster", "brake chamber", and "tie rod ends" are just a few of the things that need to be looked at on your walk around. This "walk around" is also part of your TEST to obtain a CDL.

Also on the test is an air brake pressure and leak test. Air brake fundamentals are not difficult to understand with the proper training. Your test consists of two parts, the written test and the driving test. Everything on the written test will be used during the driving test. The written test is not free. You will take the test at the license branch. If you fail, you can take it again and again until you pass and not have to pay the fee more than once, but if you fail it's frustrating and you have to go back to the license branch. We all know how much fun that is, so you'll want to pass the written test the first time. When you pass, you will get a permit to drive a commercial vehicle with a CDL licensed driver in the passenger seat. Once you get some driving experience, and you feel you are ready, take your driving test.

Driving tests can cost from $100 up depending on if you use your own truck or have to use the ones available at the test site, which of course will cost you more. The fee for the driving test is usually non-refundable, and you will have to pay again to take another one, so you want to be sure you know what you are doing. Parts of the driving test include the walk around, the air brake check, parking, backing up and docking, all done in the CDL test area, and then the actual on the road driving.

Professional truck and bus drivers are in high demand. To get the training you need you must study what will be on the test, know what you are talking about on your walk around with the CDL tester, and be able to handle a big rig forwards and backwards.

Sounds like a lot of work, but it really isn't. Knowing the written part is the hardest. Your skill as a driver will kick in once you get behind the wheel with someone who has done it before and some simple instruction. I have personally taught regular guys off the street to drive, and help them obtain their CDL's, when I worked as a fleet mechanic for major distributing company who needed route and over the road drivers. If one of my guys failed (and only a couple did), it was due to not being able to get through the written test to get their permit, or messing up the walk around with the tester.

Two excellent, low cost study guides to help you succeed with the test are: CDL Answers and CDL Practice Test. Either or both will help you reach your goal of obtaining your CDL and get you on your way to a well paying professional career. To find more information about CDL Training and other job training courses visit Cyber City Plaza, enter the plaza and proceed to the Education / Training category.

When you wake up in the morning, you may think it's a beautiful day. The sun is shining and birds are singing. However, when you go on the road, you can find yourself in a very bad road day.

How do you spot those days? Easily. Nothing goes right. People try to squeeze between you and other cars, others drive way below the speed limit, and others just use the horn when the light is still red.

Those days are terrible, but they go away, leading, hopefully, to a new, safer day.

Tips for Your First Driving Test

It's Friday again, and it's time for some more great tips for your driving test. Today it's, once again, tips that will help you pass your first driving test easily.

Tips and Tricks on How To Pass Your First Driving Test

Every teenager dreams about the day they are free to get out and explore the world on their own, at the wheel of their first car. Life on the road can be very exciting and most people love it. However, it's best you live your life on the road in a legal manner. This means you need to pass your driving test. Otherwise your driving adventure can end up at the doorstep of a cell behind a closed prison door, or even worse, you can end up hurt or hurting someone with your inexperience. This is why we put together this article to explain a few things you need to know if you want to pass your first driving test from the first try.

The first and most important thing to do when practicing for your test is to practice hands on in an empty area. A parking lot or a field are perfect places to get accustomed to your car, while minimizing the risk of damaging it or hurting yourself. Next, once you get good enough and build trust in your skills, you should start practicing on test routes. You can find lists of them on the Web. Each test center typically has 10 to 15 standard routes. Make sure you know traffic times, street signs, and hand gestures very well, at least in your area and always make sure your seat is set to fit your body height and position. There is nothing more dangerous than adjusting your seat when driving.

Regardless of the fact that you feel the adrenaline rush through your veins, always drive at safe speed, and never over the speed limit. Safe speed does not necessarily mean the speed limit! You must show the inspector that you trust your skills and instincts, but also show him that you are not breaking the law. Learn to check the mirrors regularly to make sure nothing takes you by surprise. Surprises can end badly and you might fail the test.

Another good tip before your driving test is to get a good sleep. Leave all that anxiety and sleep. It will help you be alert during the test and will definitely sharpen your senses. Also, getting a good driving test guide can make the difference between taking the exam and failing it. These are usually quite cheap but contain examples, suggestions, and tips from professional driving instructors. They are there to help you!

If you want to pass your driving test from the first try, there are a few very useful tips and tricks. Also, a good driving test guide is vital to your success!

Have a great weekend!

Pass First Time to Be Safer

Drivers who pass the first time are safer, according to the Driving Standards Agency (DSA, Britain's DMV). Apparently, drivers who pass their first test are 15% less likely to be involved in an accident.

And now, to the big number everybody has been waiting for: 45.6%. That's the percentage of people who passed their test at their first attempt last year. Not a very encouraging figure, but there are worst places.

So, what are you waiting for? Get a driving test guide, pass your first test, be safer, and raise the statistics. Can there be anything better?

Driving Lessons Information

Driving lessons are your preparation for the big test, and as such they should be done properly. Here is an article by Lagnajeet Roy about treating your lessons well.

Basic Information on Driving Lessons

A car is more than just a means of transportation. In the wrong hands it can become a weapon of death. Driving lessons are thus very important to equip the driver with the needed knowledge and experience to be able to drive safely. Well trained drivers will mean lesser accidents on the roads. Knowing this fact should make you take your training seriously.

Driving lessons or Driving lessons Glasgow are considered as required first steps before a new driver can be issued a license. The certification process involves training and then sitting for an exam. The exam usually consists of multiple choice questions or an oral test to gauge knowledge of traffic rules and regulations. Failing to pass the test would mean that the new driver will not be issued a driving license. Depending on the state or country, the driver can retake the exam in either some days, weeks or months after the first attempt. After successfully passing the written exam, the driver will need to schedule a practical driving exam. The driving exam is very important and will be administered by a qualified test personnel from the Department of Motor Vehicles. You would need to undergo driving training to be able to pass this exam.

In some countries, a valid certificate from an approved driving school is required to obtain a license to drive. This certification is to certify that the new driver has undergone adequate driving lessons Glasgow as required by the state.

For safety reasons, driving training should be done in a clear area with some distance away from buildings, car or many people. A good location may be an unused field or a school's field when school is not in session. Top ranking professional driving schools that offer driving lessons usually make use of custom made cars. The cars may look like a regular car on the outside, but have some modified controls on the inside. This is to enable the instructor and student to both have control over the vehicle. The instructor is thus able to take over control of the vehicle when the student is making a mistake.

A student has to learn basic driving and traffic instructions and techniques before beginning driving lessons. It helps when the student is taken through a run down of the whole curriculum so that they have an idea of what the entire program entails. Your driving training needs to be taken seriously, so do not settle for just any second rated driving instructor. Lessons are not just for new drivers as old drivers can also go back for refresher courses or to learn how to drive a new type of vehicle.

This article will give you the basic information about driving lessons and the different material you can use to protect it.

Don't forget - a driving test guide that shows you what to do on your test is your best instructor.

Below the Speed Limit

Driving on two way roads with one lane going in each direction can easily turn into a nightmare. I'm not talking about driving behind trucks (which usually let you pass), but about regular car drivers who just don't find the speed limit appropriate.

For example, I was driving on a road with a speed limit of 80 km/h (about 50 mph). Ahead of me there was a car driver going at just 65 km/h. It made me nearly insane. How someone can be so ignorant and drive below the speed limit?

Hopefully these drivers will soon learn that driving below the speed limit is not the smartest thing to do.

Have a great weekend,

What You Need to Pass

October starts today, and there is no better way to start a month than an article filled with tips for the driving test. Let's begin.

What You Need To Do To Pass Your Driving Test

If you have come across people who have taken their driving tests and failed, you might be forgiven for thinking that it is absolutely impossible for anyone to pass the driving test. Obviously, this is not true since there are plenty of people who pass their driving tests every single day. It is all about knowing what is important and making sure that you pay adequate attention to it while at the same time doing your best to leave out those things which have no importance or which do not contribute anything in helping you pass your driving test.

In this article, I am going to outline three things that you must do if you would like to succeed as the others who have succeeded.

The first thing that anyone who wants to be successful in this area must do is to ensure that he or she is focused. Although it might seem like stating the obvious, focus is absolutely critical if you want to be a good driver, even after acquiring your much desired driving license. The greatest reason why people lose out on their tests is because they fail to pay attention to the details. Since many people who attempt to get driving licenses have very little experience of driving on the road, not to mention driving under an intimidating supervision, they fail to pay attention to the little things that might cause them dearly.

The second thing that you need to posses during the time when you are planning to take your test is composure. If you happen to be composed, then your mind will be better placed to handle the stress and the tension that comes with driving under tense conditions. On the other hand, if you make the mistake of panicking when you are heading for the test, then you are most likely going to fail the test.

The last thing that you must have is a positive attitude. If you want to pass the driving test then you must convince yourself that you are one person whose success is guaranteed. This does not mean that you become overconfident, but it just means that you understand the challenges that you are likely to face and that you are able and willing to face them - just like everyone else who has passed the test.

It is important to note that these rules are not in any way cast in stone. However, they would form a very solid foundation if you want to pass your driving test.

Success is something that so many people yearn for. However, what most of them fail to realize that if one is filled with fear during the test, one cannot achieve much. If you want to pass your driving test, you must be able to master your fear. You can read more from this driving test guide for more information.

Have a great October!
