Who Has the Highest BAC?

Glen Campbell, an Australian policeman, was recently caught with one of Australia's highest blood alcohol concentration (BAC) ever: 0.395. For some people, such concentration can be deadly.

The drinking policeman was driving to court, and was caught once again. Apparently, he was drinking and driving again, but this time with a BAC of only 0.253.

With such people in the police, no one should be surprised that people still drink and drive. I really hope you never do that.

Don't drink and drive!

"Driving Test"

Monday is the guest article day, and today is just the same. However, today's article has the shortest title I've ever seen for an article. Here is Om Prakash Bairwa article, "Driving Test".

Driving Test

A driving test is very important in order for one to get a driving license. The driving lessons are priceless in the knowledge so that one will be an independent person and will have control over travels. Lessons are not just for new drivers as old drivers can also go back for refresher courses or to learn how to drive a new type of vehicle.

Driving Test offers assistance in the form of online videos, driving games and various scenarios, to its users which further help them in passing the test.

For a learner driver, one of the best ways to gain the importance of road safety is by attending driving school. Driving lesson prices vary on depending on which instructor college one decides to take lessons with.

Driver's concentration on the road is very crucial to avoid any untoward accidents. Distractions while driving like mobile phones, pedestrians and other cars can occur at anytime, in any place, it is vital that the driver must vie against these.

A certain veneer of seriousness should be observed in order to succeed in driving lessons. The certification process involves training and then sitting for an exam. The exam usually consists of multiple choice questions or an oral test to gauge knowledge of traffic rules and regulations. If one fails in the test then the new driver will not be issued license. However, depending on the state or country, the driver can retake the exam in either some days, weeks or months after the first attempt. After successfully passing the written exam, the driver will need to schedule a practical driving exam. The driving exam is very important and is administered by qualified test personnel from the Department of Motor Vehicles. One needs to undergo the driving training to be able to pass this exam. In order to become an experienced driver, one has to practice driving in every possible situation.

It is important to understand that the driver training is structured to help one learn quickly and safely enabling us to take and pass the driving test as soon as possible.

For more information about driving test, please visit http://www.drivinglessons.com.au/

Besides that, there is also my driving test guide that will help you pass your test.

Boiling Wheels

The summer is here. Definitely. How do I know it? When I enter my car, I can't touch the wheel. I have to wait until the air conditioner does its job, which takes about two minutes.

I really hate driving in such hot temperatures. Concentration becomes hard, and sweating isn't helping. Sometimes I even have to wear long clothes, which makes it impossible to be in the car. And still, driving must go on.

Have a great, not-so-hot summer!

High Risk - Low Costs

Yes, today I have another insurance article. This time about high risk insurance, for drivers with DUI, accidents, or 16 year old males. Their insurance rates are usually higher, but there are ways to bring it down. Here's how.

High Risk Auto Insurance Can Be Cheaper Than Many Think

Some drivers have to pay more for their insurance than others. These are high risk drivers, and many companies charge them more for insurance than low risk drivers. If you're considered to be high risk, you'll be glad to know that there are ways you can save money on your bill. Believe it or not, some high risk auto insurance plans are more affordable than others, and if you do a bit of research, you may find that you're eligible for cheaper plans than the one you currently have!

Some people make the mistake of believing high risk auto insurance means high rates, but that isn't always so. In fact, you may not even be considered as high risk as other drivers, therefore you should be able to find insurance that's more affordable than theirs. Companies consider the following to be high risk:

o Drivers with a DWI or DUI on their record.

o Drivers being involved in a number of accidents---even ones that aren't their fault.

o Teen drivers.

o Drivers with more than three convictions.

o Drivers who have gaps in their auto insurance history.

Even if you are one of these drivers, you still may be able to save some money if you know where to look. You can request high risk auto insurance quotes on the internet for free. You should at least take a few minutes to shop around, even if you're feeling cynical. You never know, you may be able to save a lot more money than you might think!

Even if you don't find any cheaper high risk auto insurance, you still may qualify for discounts. There are a few different ways that you may be able to save some money. For the meantime try keeping a clean driving record. The more that time goes by without getting any negative marks on your record, the more affordable your high risk auto insurance will be.

Go ahead - use this information to get cheaper insurance.

Succeed in the Driving Test

Dre Lee is in the tourist marketing business, but he also knows a thing or two about cars and the driving test. Today you can get smarter from his huge article, which is full of great tips.

How to Succeed in a Driving Test?

Getting a license is a general concern and most often, it creates a controversy, especially when one considers the alarming number of candidates who do not succeed the first time, but most candidates have achieved the feat of getting the first consideration.

Choosing the right driving school and be regular

Among the wide choice on the market, it is needful to analyze the bid offered by each of the driving schools: working conditions, references, profile of the monitors, etc. The method of asking references from other people rarely misleads and everyone who has ever tried his service for driving license would be happy to share his testimony.

If the candidate is in Mauritius, it is advisable to opt for a driving school which is part of the Family of IVTB (Industrial and Vocational Training Board) because they are a benchmark of learning for the licensing and the results are very satisfactory. Once the decision is taken upon the best driving school, regularity is strongly recommended. He must give everything from the first session, be focus on traffic code, not relax, but keep improving your driving skills.

Learning the driving code is the base of successful driving

To memorize the driving code in a more efficient way, the courses and sessions provided from the driving school will be supplemented by alternative methods of learning. The exercises throughout the software, tests on the Internet and books on the subject, addition to those provided by the school, all these are helpful to memorizing the driving code. Learning can also be done daily by a simple observation of traffic signals as well as all road movements and it is a method that helps a lot. The class sessions must be chained to avoid the risk of forgetting some concepts issued between classes and the lesson frequency of every two days is recommended. When the apprentice has successfully passed the stage of learning the code, he could then focus his efforts on driving.

The course of conduct: what to do to succeed

The current must pass completely between the instructor and the learner to conduct sessions that take place under the best conditions and that communication takes place as naturally as possible. If this is not the case, it is possible to notify the driving school and change the monitor. During the course of conduct, the candidate should remain calm and must follow to the least details the advice of his instructor. He has to master his emotions and to make the effort not to yield to panic in case of uncontrollable situation.

The attitude of over self estimate is also a fault to avoid and if the instructor believes that his apprentice requires additional sessions he must willingly accept. Generally, the candidate should expect to receive criticism and must consider it be constructive for his own benefits. The best thing to do is to accept and to intensify efforts to avoid the same mistake. In case of exceeding the standard of 20 hours lesson, the monitor needs to explain to his students the reasons for scheduling additional meetings and the various points to be strengthened. The candidate must not remain on a lesson and if unsuccessful in a series of code, he gets six errors or the monitor had to intervene excessively in a session of conduct, it is strongly advised to take a meeting or spend an additional test.

Be in conditions and pass the driving test

To be truly prepared for the exam, the candidate will be framed at the end of his training by an instructor other than their usual teacher. This is an excellent way to test knowledge and to put in a real examination. A few days before the examination, candidates must ensure that he is fully fit and hard work to manage his physical exertion. Tiredness is the enemy to the concentration and may promote stress. On the day, the topic should be rested and have a balanced meal which the consumption of stimulants is prohibited. He must not forget his learning book and his ID.

Just before the test, he will relax and relieve any symptoms of stress by using breathing exercises and gymnastic movements. The test will then begin after the observance of rules of politeness to the judge. The general theory should be addressed in a positive way because it is equivalent to the exercises and other tests at the driving school. The candidate must not allow himself impressed by the slides. He must be vigilant and not to focus on potential pitfalls that might not even occur. It will be just for him to be careful and take a quick look at each important detail as a counter, mirrors, different road signs, etc. While training in driving school has been successful, these actions become automatic and the answer will appear easily.

The candidate must not despair if there is an imperfect calibration or niche. He will just need to ensure that these small mistakes are not repeated. Time management is also important and he will take care to respect the duration. The candidate will use his five wild cards wisely and do not lose much time on a particular issue. The candidate must not under any circumstances leave troubled by a lack of response from the examiner and will continue to focus and analyze each issue of the review, whatever happens.

Road Assassins

There assassins on our roads. Last week's drive was one of the most dangerous I ever had, and it was on roads I know in a route I took hundreds of times. And still, many people tried to kill me.

People tried to squeeze in between my car and the car in front of me in high density traffic. Worse than that, they passed me on two way roads when there were oncoming cars very close to us. I slowed down, moved right, and hoped no one would die.

These indicents are really scary, and I don't wish anyone to run into them.

Car Insurance for Women - Is it Really Cheaper?

Car insurance is a heavy cost for everyone, but some sectors in the public enjoy lower rates compared to others in the same age. For instance, women. Usually, their insurance rates are lower than men with the same properties. Here's an article about it that will help you save.

Car Insurance For a Woman Can Be Very Affordable and Easy to Get

Women can usually get cheaper auto insurance than men. This is because many insurers generally believe women to be safer drivers. If you're a female driver then you need to make sure you get the best car insurance as possible. Anything can happen, so you should want to have the best coverage possible at all times.

Since car insurance is cheaper for any woman than man, you should be able to afford more coverage than men. Even if you're the best driver in the world, there are still dangerous drivers on the road that may cause an accident with you. Your car could also tear up at anytime and cause you to wreck. Always put safety first above all else.

Car insurance for women has different cover options: liability, property damage, comprehensive, and collision. There are also extras you can add on to your coverage plan, like emergency road service. Each state has different rules, therefore you need to find out the minimum coverage the law will allow you to have.

Depending on the option you choose, you can be covered if you crash, the other driver if there is one involved, and both. Likewise, property damage coverage will pay for any property that ends up damaged from your crash.

If your current insurance plan is expensive, and you find yourself having trouble keeping up with payments, then you need to check other plans for car insurance for a woman. You can get free quotes on the internet. Take some time and educate yourself about all the options and what all you will need from a plan. Car insurance for women can be affordable, so make sure your plan covers everything that you need.

Car insurance for a woman doesn't have to be expensive. In fact, it shouldn't be expensive. If you're paying more than you should be, then you can find a better plan right now. You need to get the best, yet most affordable, car insurance for a woman possible.

Hopefully this article helped you decide.

The Written Test on a Touch Screen

Jane Grath is not new to this blog, yet she wrote something very new - about the touch screen systems in the DSA written test. Read it, it's very interesting.

Driving Theory Test - Test Pattern and Touch Screen System

There are two parts to the theory test: the multiple-choice test and the hazard perception test. Both are required to be taken and passed in the same session in order to attain a theory test certificate, which can then be used to book the practical driving test within two years of the theory pass.

Multiple-choice test uses the touch screen system to mark the correct answers.

What is touch screen-

A touch screen is an electronic visual display that can identify the existence and position of a touch within the display area. The term in general refers to touching the display of the device with a finger or hand. Touch screens can also sense other inactive objects, such as a stylus. On the other hand, if the thing sensed is active, as with a light pen, the term touch screen is usually not relevant.

The touch screen has two main attributes -

First, it enables one to cooperate directly with what is displayed, rather than indirectly with a cursor controlled by a mouse or touchpad.

Secondly, it lets one do so without requiring any intermediate device that would need to be held in the hand.

Touch screen in driving test :

  • To take online theory test for driving theory test examinees use touch screen computer system.
  • Touch screen is preferred because it is easy to use or user friendly and has been carefully designed
  • Examinees can also work through a practice session for up to 15 minutes to get used to the system before actually starting their test.
  • To answer a question the examinee simply touches his choice of answer from the listed answers on the computer screen.
  • During examination if an examinee faces any problem or finds difficult to use the new system staff will be on hand to help them
  • The system has been carefully designed so that examinees that are color blind can use it.
  • The system has the option for dyslexic examinees to listen to the test being read in English through a headset. People with dyslexia can also apply to have up to doubled the standard time for the multiple choice part of the test. This accommodation must be arranged at the time of booking. Supporting documents such as a letter from your GP or teacher will be required.
  • The examinee is allowed to go back to a question at any time and can also flag questions they are unsure of in order to find and return to it quickly and easily later.

Jane Grath has 10 years experience in guiding the learner drivers to pass driving theory test. Along with writing useful driving test tips, driving test books, driving theory test CD, DVD Her experience and association with different driving websites provide a wealth of resources related to driving test.

The Pushers

It happens every time. Whenever there is heavy traffic and everyone is crawling, some people just have to push others. There is no intersection for miles away, but they must change lanes. Since there is no room for them, they push and squeeze to change lanes.

This behavior is unexplainable. Maybe they're trying to be in the fast lane, but with two lanes, there is no way to determine which lane is faster. Also, according to Murphy's law, the second you change lanes, the second one becomes faster.

If anyone has an explaination for this bahavior, I'll be glad to hear. Otherwise, I'll just keep wondering why people act so stupid sometimes.

Getting Cheap Car Insurance for a Young Driver

Today is a very special day - the beginning of the Soccer World Cup. For this day, here is an article that will help you reduce the cost on your auto insurance.

Cheap Car Insurance For a Young Driver - Find Out How You Can Get It

It's not uncommon for young drivers to be charged higher car insurance rates than older drivers. Many insurance companies consider high school drivers to be higher risks than others. Fortunately, there are different methods out there that they can use for saving money. There are ways to get cheap car insurance for a young driver.

Sometimes young drivers sign on to the same policy that their parent's use in hopes of benefiting from multi-vehicle discounts. While this method can be considered, it's not necessarily the cheapest. This is because insurers sometimes mistakenly assume that high risk drivers will be the ones driving the high risk vehicles. There are other ways to get cheap car insurance for some young drivers.

Parents can call their insurers for no obligation quotes to find out the cost for adding on an additional driver. They then need to compare the total price difference, and not just the premium of the car driven by the younger driver. All vehicles involved may be affected with a price change. If this strategy doesn't seem as if it's going to work, there are other choices for cheap car insurance for a young driver.

There are options for young drivers to go solo on getting an insurance plan. There really are companies out there. Whether you're a teen driver or the parent of a teen driver, you can find the cheap insurance plans by getting multiple quotes. There are factors that insurance companies consider when determining rates. Rates can vary depending on the zip code, age, driving record, and many more factors. You can get multiple quotes all at once for free on the internet. This is the best way to go about finding cheap car insurance for young drivers.

You could be missing out on some great deals right now! In addition to finding teen car insurance you may also be able to find special discounts! All you have to do is evaluate your options on the internet, and you can do this by comparing different companies and plans that offer cheap car insurance for young drivers.

Use this information well - it will save you hundreds of dollars!

16 And Fail

Some people pass their driving test on the first try. Some on the second. Fewer on the third. Some don't do it even on their sixteenth time. Last year, two people took the driving test sixteen times, and one failed.

According to Britain's DSA, only the passing rate for the first time is 45%. That's right, less than half the people pass on the first time. 25% pass on the second time, which makes it a nice 70% passing rate for the first two tests, but leaves 30% for the others, which can go as high as 16 tests and beyond.

A driving test guide will get you in the happy 45% if you follow it well. If you don't, don't be surprised if you find yourself in the bottom 30%.

Pass the First Time With an Intensive Driving School

Some people can't be taught by their relatives. They require a professional driver who will instruct them. However, in order to pass the first time, you need an intensive driving school, one which will push you until you pass the test. Here is an article by Andrew Roberts who explians this topic well.

Want to Pass Your Driving Test Quickly? Book Into an Intensive Driving School!

When you are in your late teens, often still in school & living at home; you don't have a regular income. One of the worst expenses is motoring, rather you're driving test & passing it. Obviously the quicker you pass your test, the less money you spend & the more time and money you have on other pursuits.

One of the most efficient ways to pass your test is by joining an intensive motoring school. This method of learning requires usually about two weeks of intensive learning, usually in a different area of the country to where you are living. As you are solidly focused on driving, joining an intensive motoring school can make you pass your test quicker, with fewer lessons, and for cheaper overall.

It's a larger up front investments, often paying a few hundred pounds, but you are put firmly in driving test mode, and the week consists of a number of lessons throughout the day, followed by a driving test.

It's advisable to get a few lessons under your belt before joining an intensive motoring school, ideally after sitting your theory test, as the whole purpose of the two week course is to help you through your test, which is at the end of the second week.

If you pass, great, if you fail, no problem, as you are clearly ready to take the test, thanks to your local intensive driving school. A search on an area's driving schools can bring up details of those who offer intensive courses.

To find out more about Intensive Driving Courses, Residential Driving Courses, Driving lessons, Refresher Courses, Theory Test Training and even Motorway Tuition, check out Glan Conwy School of Motoring. A well established North Wales based Driving school with over 20 years experience. They are able to offer a range of small cars to meet your requirements, whether you want automatic or manual, Glan Conwy School of Motoring will be able to meet your needs.

If you wish to learn how to drive in an Intensive Driving School, visit Glan Conwy School of Motoring in North Wales.

Of course, if you don't have to go with a driving school, you can always use a driving test guide, one that will explain you everything, and will be less expensive than one driving lesson.

Following Closely Behind

Once again, I encountered one of the most dangerous driving behaviors. We all know that there is a reaction time for everyone (3/4 of a second for an alert driver), and during that time the car keeps moving. There is also a braking distance, because the car can't stop on-the-spot (unless it hits a wall).

It seems like some people are unaware of the laws of physics and decide to follow me very closely when I drive. Most of the time they just want to pass, so I let them pass when I can. Sometimes they're just dangerous drivers looking to scare others.

One day, someone will have an emergency stop and they'll hit him. Then they'll find out what it means to follow closely. They will not only be hit, they are also guilty by law, and there is no way to get out of it.

Watch out for these drivers, and let them pass you. Your ego is not worth your life, especially on the road.

How to Reduce Anxiety Before the Test

Anxiety and nervousness can kill driving tests. In order to avoid them, you need to practice, be knowledgeable about the test, and find ways to calm down. Here is an article I wrote about this serious issue.

Driving Test Tips For Reducing Anxiety and Staying Calm

Don't let your nerves get in the way when taking your driver's test. While it's okay and normal to feel nervous, you should still learn to relax and feel confident. You can reduce nervousness by preparing beforehand. Going over the basics isn't preparing - you need to get plenty of practice and go over comprehensive guides. You also need to learn about common mistakes that people make and how to avoid them.

Get out and practice every single day with a responsible person who will help and guide you. You need to learn how to signal correctly, when and how to make turns, what signs mean and what to do when you come up on them, parallel park, change lanes, etc. There is a lot you need to learn and digest, so it's in your best interest to practice as much as possible.

You can also try relaxation techniques to reduce anxiety. Try this exercise: sit up straight, breathe in deeply for four seconds, hold for four seconds, release for four seconds, hold again for four seconds, and repeat the process. Do this for a few minutes and you will start to feel better. Another option is to try hypnosis. There are hypnosis programs available for student drivers.

During the test, congratulate yourself every time you do something correctly. If the examiner asks or tells you something that you're not clear about, do not hesitate to ask him or her to repeat it. Clear communication is essential, as your results will depend on how well you listen. Always keep your eyes on your surroundings - don't simply stare ahead. You need to be aware of what is going on around you at all times.

Mistakes are bound to happen. How you deal with them is what determines the outcome of your test. If you realize you are doing something incorrectly, don't dwell on it. Keep going forward and remain focused. If you allow yourself to worry about mistakes, you will only make some more.

You can learn driving test secrets online that will help you pass. There are some great internet driving courses and guides that you can take to increase your knowledge. With increased knowledge about driving, you will gain more confidence and feel less nervous!

I hope this article helped you,

An Idea to Stop Drunk Driving

Everyone heard about the device that people have in their car that stops them from driving drunk - they blow in there, and if they're sober, the car will start. However, they have one major fault. The device cannot see who blew the air, so the driver can ask someone to do it for him.

John Ruocco found a creative solution for that. His device not only checks for breath tests, it also includes a camera to make sure the driver is the one blowing to the device. It can also send those pictures to emergency response centers to stop drivers ahead of time.

Hopefully his device will stop a few more drunk drivers from going on our already-not-safe roads.

Don't drink and drive!
