The Annoyance of Traffic Jams

Traffic jams are always annoying, but they are more annoying than ever when I have to pay for my own gas. A standing car wastes time and gas, and it's definitely not something I want.

This traffic problem comes down to lanes - the freeway I drive on goes from three lanes to two, and standing traffic begins there. It's annoying, but I get more time to listen to the radio thanks to that.

The freeway is supposed to be expanded to three lanes in that problematic segment soon, so it'll hopefully solve those problems.

Three Things to Avoid

Driving tests, like everything in life, have a big list of do's and don'ts. Here is an article I wrote about three of those don'ts.

Passing Your Driving Test – Three Things You Should Not Do

It is pretty obvious that you are here because you believe that it is time for you to lay your hands on the coveted driving license. Although so many people have been able to get this document, a lot of people still continue to believe that getting it is actually one of the hardest tasks that there is in the world today. Although this is definitely not true, there are certain things that will cause you to reduce your chances of passing your driving test.

The first thing that you will need to avoid completely is the idea of arriving at the test venue when you are drunk. Although this may seem like a very far-fetched idea, it is important to note that there are certain people who will actually arrive at the venue of the test when they are drunk, or when they are just recovering from a hangover. It is important to note that if at all you would like to miss out on your license, try doing that. You will walk out of the center with no chance of getting the license any time soon.

Apart from arriving at the center when you are drunk, the second thing that you should not do if you are really desirous of passing the driving test and getting your driving license, is to arrive late. There are certain people who have no concept of time and who tend to have this belief that it is their job to keep other people waiting. If you are such a person, you should never try to exercise this "right" on the day of sitting for your test, because you may not be forgiven. Arriving for the test late may mean that you have absolutely no regard for the exams, and that you do not see it as anything serious.

Lastly, you should not go to the test center when you are in a panic mode. This usually happens to people who are unprepared. It can also happen to those people who are very well prepared, but who feel as if they are not up to the task. This can cause them to be at a loss on what to do at the test, it can cause them to even forget some very basic things about driving. The moment a person starts forgetting the basic, that person is likely doomed for failure. For this reason, always keep anxiety at bay.

Getting your driver's license is not that hard. If you would like to pass your driving test without trying so hard, you should get yourself this amazing driving test guide.

Hopefully you found this article useful,

This video was uploaded 11 days ago, so Lizzy still has a long way to go (she probably can't apply for the test before she turns 16). She's doing pretty good in the parking lot, so I guess she'll probably be OK for going outside.

The Medway Failabout

Failure in driving tests can happen for many reasons, one of them is confusing signs. Medway driving instructors blame signs of their local roundabout for both failure and the number of accidents.

Apparently, the lane signs lead in wrong directions, and drivers have to cut lanes in order to get to their destination. This situation is very bad, and hopefully the Medway regional council will do something about it.

The Law in Arizona

Each country and state has its own laws regarding auto insurance, and Arizona is no different. Here is an article by Richard Cunninghamm about those laws in Arizona.

Arizona Auto Insurance Law

What does financial responsibility mean?

Like all other states, Arizona has financial responsibility laws which means that if you are involved in an accident you will be asked to present proof of your ability to cover the cost of damages caused up to a minimum amount. To comply with this law most drivers buy automobile liability insurance.

What type of automobile liability insurance am I required to have according Arizona Auto Insurance Law ?

Arizona Auto Insurance Law requires that you have Bodily Injury liability and Property Damage Liability

What are the minimum liability limits?

According to Arizona Auto Insurance Law, the minimum amount of liability coverage needed for personal injury is $15,000 person and $30,000 per accident.

The minimum amount of liability coverage needed for property damage is $10,000. This will usually appear on the policy in the form 15/30/10.

When will I be required to present proof of Insurance?

Within 30 days of registration. If you've had an accident you will be required to present proof of Insurance/financial responsibility at the time of the accident. Further, the State requires that you have proof of insurance at all times in your vehicle. In most cases a card issued by the insurer is sufficient.

Will my insurer required to verify the validity of my insurance policy?

Yes. According to Arizona Auto Insurance Law, if you've had an accident or you have been arrested, your insurance company will be required to verify that your policy is in good standing. Your insurance company must also inform the Arizona Department of Motor Vehicle if you cancel or fail to renew your policy. And according to Arizona computer data law, insurance companies are required to submit their entire list of policies in force, which the State may compare with registrations.

What are the penalties for non-compliance to the financial responsibility law?

A $250 fine.

What are the laws governing AZ liability insurance

Liability insurance in Arizona is based on the tort liability system. This means that if you were involved in an accident that is not your fault you and/or your passengers have the right to sue the party at fault for pain and suffering, and for other out-of-pocket expenses such as medical costs.

ARIZONA DUI/DRUNK DRIVING LAWS

What is the BAC (blood alcohol content) limit is the state of Arizona?

The BAC (blood alcohol content) limit for the state of Arizona is .08

Will I have my license revoked or suspended if my BAC is above 0.08?

According to Arizona Auto Insurance Law, yes. If you are pulled over by an officer and your BAC test result returns a reading above .08 you will face an on-the-spot driver's license revocation or suspension. Further, if you refuse to take the BAC test your license will still be revoked or suspended.

What is the implied consent law?

Like most states, Arizona has the implied consent law. This law is base on the premise that because you choose to drive on the streets and highways of the state, you have given your consent to submit to the BAC and or urine test to ascertain alcohol or drug levels.

What is the penalty for violating the implied consent law?

The mandatory penalty for violation of the implied consent law in Arizona is suspension or revocation of one's driving privilege.

Are preliminary breath tests permitted my law in Arizona?

According to Arizona Auto Insurance Law, yes. In states where it is permitted by law, sometimes an officer will do a preliminary breath test on-the-spot to confirm that you are actually under the influence. An alcosensor machine, a hand-held device, is often used. Although its results are not admissible in court, if the machine returns a positive reading, you may be taken to a police station the take the actual BAC test.

What is DUI Plea Bargain?

In a DUI plea bargain, the driver charged with DUI agrees to plea guilty to a lesser charge than one for which she could stand trial. When this happens, she receives a more lenient sentence, and/or have certain related charges dropped. The DUI plea bargain is prohibited in Arizona.

What is the open container law?

The open container law makes it illegal for the driver and passengers to have unsealed alcohol containers in an automobile passenger compartments.

ARIZONA SEAT-BELT LAWS

Are seat-belt laws enforced in the State of Arizona?

Yes. As of January 1, 1991, driver and all passengers are required to wear seat-belts in the State of Arizona.

Are seat-belt laws primary or secondary in Arizona?

Seat-belt laws in Arizona are NOT primary. Primary enforcement means that an officer may stop an automobile and issue a ticket for violation of the seat-belt law. Secondary enforcement means that the officer may issue a ticket for not using seat-belt if and only if the driver was stopped for some other violation.

What are the fines for noncompliance to seat-best laws in AZ?

$10

LAWS GOVERNING OLDER DRIVERS

Am I required to perform medical, knowledge, road, or vision retests when I renew my license?

Retesting for all drivers is usually required for vision, road retesting is only required under certain conditions. For example, if you've had too many accidents over a certain period of time.

Is my doctor required to report a physical condition that may affect my ability to drive safely?

NO

Is there an age limit on driver's license renewals

Yes. 70 years.

LAWS GOVERNING TEENAGE AND YOUNGER DRIVERS

Do teenage drivers require graduated licensing?

YES. All states have graduated licensing (a rigorous learning period before full driving privileges are granted) laws for drivers 15 to 18 years old.

For what period of time are teenagers required to maintain a learners permit? For a minimum of six (6) months.

Are teens required to own an intermediate or provisional driver's license before they a granted full driving privileges?

No.

Do young drivers have certain restrictions on night driving?

No.

Can teenage drivers carry the maximum number of passengers allowed in a vehicle?

Yes.

OK. What about BAC (blood alcohol content) level? Are there restrictions on that too?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the answer is yes. Although the BAC level for other drivers is 0.08, Arizona drivers under the age of 21 years with a BAC level greater that 0 (yes zero) could be charged with DUI.

Silly Mistakes to Avoid

It's Friday the 13th today, which is a perfect time for a little scare about silly mistakes you can make on your driving test.

3 Silly Blunders You Should Avoid When Sitting For Your Driving Test

Among the people that you know and are acquainted with, you will come across a number of them who have sat for their driving tests and failed. In most cases, these people would have made some mistakes which are acceptable. Maybe they were simply not thorough enough on the road or they simply did not know one or two tricks. However, sometimes you will come across people who made some pretty silly blunders that will get you asking whether these guys were really serious about what they were doing.

Don't Drink and Drive

The first silly blunder that we shall look at is arriving for the test when you are drunk. If you come for the test and you still have a hangover from yesterday's party, then you will be committing some very bad offence. This is because you will definitely fail your test - that is if you will be allowed to take it. For this reason, if you are a person who drinks, you should avoid drinking on the day before the test and on the material day of the test itself.

Being Rude To The Examiners

The second stupid thing that you should not do is to be stupid to the people who are examining you. There are some people who do think that they can abuse their way through life. That they can curse at other people and manipulate them into doing what they want done. If you are this kind of person, then you definitely need to change your attitude because if you take this to the examiner, he or she will definitely fail you. If you have this attitude towards the people who have authority over you, what attitude will you have on the other road users who have not authority over your driving license?

Arriving Late for the Test

If you have signed up for the test for a particular time, it is important that you make sure that you take the test on the required and specified date. Do not make the mistake of forgetting when the test will be, because this will definitely cause you to lose out on your chance of getting the license on the material day.

All in all, it is always important to take cognizant of the fact that if you employ common sense, you already have won 50% of the battle. If you fail to employ your common sense, you will definitely not get your license, no matter how much you know about driving.

Getting your drivers license is not that hard. If you would like to pass your driving test without trying so hard, you should get yourself this amazing driving test guide.

Hopefully this article helped you,

Every Month or Every Year?

Paying for car insurance isn't easy. However, there are some ways to ease the wallet pain, called payments. Here is an article by K Phillips about which way is better.

Should You Pay Your Auto Insurance Monthly Or Annually?

Most auto insurers will give you the option to pay for coverage through monthly premiums rather than forcing you to make a single large, upfront payment. To decide which option is better, you'll need to carefully review the advantages versus the potential drawbacks in light of your personal circumstances. Depending on your financial situation, need for planning flexibility, and other factors, making the wrong choice can have long-term consequences.

This article will offer a road map for navigating your auto insurance payment schedule. We shall give you a glimpse into the advantages and disadvantages of monthly payments versus annual.

Pro: Easier On Your Monthly Budget

If you're like most people, you manage your finances with a monthly budget. Your income is offset by your bills; funds that are left over are allocated toward entertainment, investments, and other outflows. Under this budgeting system, making a large upfront payment for year-round coverage may prove unmanageable. This is especially so in today's economic climate.

Your monthly insurance payments will fit nicely in your budget. The payments represent an expected outflow that is already allocated in your financial plan.

Con: It's Inconvenient

Paying your auto insurance premiums on a monthly schedule increases the paperwork you'll be forced to manage. Not only will you need to open your statements and file them for future reference, but you'll also need to write a monthly check.

On the other hand, many auto insurance companies can help you establish an automatic payment plan. The funds are drafted directly from your checking account on a predefined schedule. That reduces your paperwork and eliminates the need to remember to write a check each month.

Pro: Provides More Liquidity

If funds are limited, there's value in having the option to hold onto your money for as long as possible. Monthly car insurance payments provide valuable liquidity. For example, suppose part of your monthly budget is allocated toward making a small investment into mutual funds. If you were forced to pay several hundreds of dollars upfront for an annual car insurance policy, you might lose the liquidity necessary to make your monthly investments.

Con: Includes Processing Fees

Most auto insurers will charge a small monthly fee to process your payments each month. These processing fees are typically small; it's not uncommon for them to be as low as a few dollars each month.

Over the course of a year, the fees can add up to $50 or more depending on your policy. While some financial planning experts suggest that paying such fees is an ill-advised way to spend money, it depends largely on your personal circumstances. If funds are unlimited, the experts are correct. This small fee may be worthwhile considering the liquidity this arrangement offers.

Pro: More Flexibility

Making monthly payments gives you far more flexibility to change car insurers than would be the case if you were to pay upfront. This is more important than many policyholders realize.

Auto insurers are constantly trying to gain market share. A key lever they use is lower premiums. This is one of the reasons you should periodically shop for a new policy. Even if you're satisfied with your current auto insurer, you might find a policy that offers more attractive terms. You might be able to get equal coverage for less money through a competitive auto insurance company. You also might discover that you can get greater insurance coverage for the same payments you are already making.

If you cancel your car insurance policy after paying upfront, you'll receive a pro-rated balance from your current insurer. The problem is, you'll need to wait for the check, which can take weeks. It might be necessary to make a deposit to your new insurance company, which might be troublesome while waiting for your previous refund. It's much simpler to cancel your coverage and switch providers when you're paying for your insurance coverage monthly.

Choosing The Right Payment Schedule

You are the only person who can decide whether paying for your auto insurance on a monthly schedule is appropriate for your situation. Review your monthly budget. Determine the value you place on liquidity. And consider the importance of being able to easily switch providers in the event you find better car insurance rates elsewhere for the coverage you need. A little upfront planning can help you avoid headaches down the road.

Becoming Better After Passing

Passing the driving test is not the end of your driving career - it's just the beginning. Because of that, you have to become a better driver after you pass your test. Here is an article I wrote about this issue.

How To Become A Better Driver After Passing Your Driving Test

A lot of people usually do struggle enough when they try their best to get their driving licenses. You will find that people spend so much time trying to go through all the written test, practice a lot of do a lot of consultation and research. However, once they manage to pass their driving test, they tend to go to the resting mode. In this article, I would really like to bring out the fact that getting your license after passing the test is not really the end. In fact, it is actually the beginning. For this reason, you will still need to do a lot of practice in order to become an even better driver. Here are some three tips that will definitely go along way in helping you out on this particular task.

1. Practice In Free Areas

The first thing that you should do is to make sure that you practice in the areas that are free. Try out the open spaces and be thorough there before venturing into the road. Despite the fact that the examination that you will take when applying for your license will be exhaustive, it is really nothing compared to the real-life situation of competing with vehicles that are on a hurry and fighting for space with ambulances and police cars. You therefore would definitely want to be very proficient off the road before going forth to spend a lot of your time on the road.

2. Drive With An Experienced Driver

The second thing that you should do if at all you would like to become proficient in your driving is to make sure that you drive with a proficient driver in your car. This is because as a driver, you may find yourself in a tough situation once in a while where you really do not know what you should do. To ensure that you do not end up being messed up and getting yourself involved in accidents.

3. Perfect On The Traffic Rules And Signs

As people get accustomed to driving, they tend to forget the basic rules and the signs that are on the road. For this reason, they may chance upon some uncommon but very important sign on a remote road, and fail to understand which it means. If you want to become an excellent driver, it is important that you perfect your knowledge of all the signs and traffic rules that are available to you.

Getting your drivers license is not that hard. If you would like to pass your driving test without trying so hard, you should get yourself this amazing driving test guide.

Sometimes people shouldn't get a driver's license, but this is discovered only after they pass. For example, a British teenager passed his driving test, and a few hours later hit a motorist.

The new driver apparently lost control over his car and hit the motorist in a central intersection. The motorist suffers from serious head injuries.

Hopefully everything will be OK for the motorist. The teenager should wait a few more years until he can hold a license.

Discounted Temporary Car Insurance

Temporary car insurance is a very useful tool - you activate it only for a short period of time, so you are charged only for the time you are actually driving. However, this insurance is usually more costly than usual insurance. Here is an article by Michael Bainbridge that will help you make this insurance cheaper.

How to Get Discount on Temporary Car Insurance

Depending where you live in the world, you might have heard of price comparison websites. Here in the UK we are very familiar with them and millions of people use them to compare prices of all sorts of things, and car insurance is one of the popular things people use them for.

Temporary car insurance quotes can vary between companies because different insurance companies judge the risk in different ways. As you probably know, a lot depends upon your own personal circumstances, and the type of car you want to insure as well as the number of days you want cover. There are many people who need cover for just a few days while they're changing cars, or need to borrow a car at short notice. Trouble is, because you need the temp car insurance pretty quickly, you tend to buy with haste, and settle for the first quote you get offered. This is a big mistake. You should make some enquiries now, when you don't need it so you have an idea of the costs involved for when you do need it.

Comparison websites are the answer, and offer an excellent service and literally save you hours and hours of making individual calls to companies, or typing your details into individual websites to get separate quotes. Why should you do that, when these sites will do all the hard work? The quick answer is that you shouldn't.

These comparison sites receive a commission when customers buy car insurance through one of their links. I asked a few of my friends who use these sites whether they went on to buy a service through these links and they all said they did. In fact, they had no idea that they were in effect, affiliate links. They simply assumed that the link was the only way to access the offer that the comparison site had displayed.

By using these sites to your advantage you can save yourself money and get a discount on your temporary car insurance. Here's how.

You enter your details into the comparison site and run a search. The results will usually sorted by price so look at the cheapest couple. Visit their websites by clicking through the links the comparison site give you, but do not buy at this time. When you get to the sites, find a telephone number because you want to speak to someone who deals with phone quotes.

Give them a call and ask for a quote, and explain you are a new customer seeking temporary car insurance and say their company was recommended by a friend. What ever quote they give you, tell them it's too high. Explain you've made some comparisons and can get it cheaper. Throw some numbers around 10% less than their quote at them, and drop a couple of insurance company names into the conversation. They will usually match that lower figure. They are very keen to get your business so 9 times out of 10 you will get a discount.

Remember, they were already prepared to give the comparison site a commission anyway, so by you calling them direct, they don't have to make that commission payment, which means there is some room for them to discount your quote. You can also remind them of that fact.
