20 Serious Mistakes

Today is the last weekday of 2011, and for a good closing, here is a list of twenty mistakes that will send you to another test.

20 Driving Test Mistakes You Need to Avoid if You Want to Pass

When it comes to driving tests, the examiner's list is VERY long. There are dozens of things that they look for. Knowing what they look for will enable you to prepare yourself better. You might not feel as nervous on the day of your driver's exam if you are well-prepared.

You'll be happy to know that there are online resources that will help you prepare yourself! You can view a list of things on which you will be tested.

Did you know that you might even lose some points for not arriving on time?

Here is a guide on some of items commonly found on an examiner's list.

1. Unfamiliarity with starting procedures
2. Using wrong gear to start
3. Failing to depress clutch pedal and/or release hand brake
4. Starting off too fast
5. Failing to signal properly
6. Moving off without checking for traffic, including pedestrians
7. Changing gear too quickly, or not quickly enough
8. Changing to an incorrect gear
9. Coasting in neutral
10. Steering with incorrect position of hands on wheel
11. Jerking the steering wheel
12. Driving too close to the centerline
13. Steering with one hand during inappropriate times
14. Reversing too fast
15. Going at an erratic speed
16. Bumps into the curb when parallel parking
17. Allows the engine to stall
18. Doesn't use the rearview mirror regularly
19. Turning from incorrect position on the roadway
20. Failing to angle the wheels in the correct position when parking next to curb

These 20 mistakes are quite common for first-time testers. They should give you an idea of what you need to learn when you practice driving.

Here are a few tips on how to prepare yourself for your driver's test:

• Practice plenty beforehand. Practice on side roads. Practice driving in parking lots. Practice parallel parking. Practice on streets. Start off driving in secluded areas and work your way up to busier areas.

• Get plenty of sleep the night before, and eat a big breakfast. Even if you're not hungry, you should make yourself eat. If you don't eat, you'll be more likely to feel anxious and nervous. Before you step in the car at the testing site, take a deep breath and tell yourself that "everything is going to be okay."

• During the actual drive, listen to everything your examiner says. The actual test should take 5-10 minutes. Also, don't be surprised if your examiner tries to trick you. This is why you should know all of the rules!

• Let's say your road test is going well. You're almost finished and excited that you did a good job. Whatever you do, don't get so excited that you forget how to park properly! Take your time if you have to. Try not to hit the curb!

Hopefully, you now have a better idea of what your driving test is going to be like. Regardless of where you live, MOST of the rules are the same!

You can learn more driving test mistakes to avoid by checking out online guides! Online driving guides will teach you everything you need to know to prepare yourself for both the written exam and the road exam.

Getting your driver's license is not that hard. If you would like to pass your driving test without trying so hard, you should get yourself this amazing driving test guide.

Enjoy your last weekday of this year!

Selecting the Right Insurance

If you own a car, it is definitely necessary to choose the right insurance. Depending on your car and your driving habits, there are many insurance packages available. As there are dozens of car insurance companies on the market, it is only sensible to choose the right insurance package carefully. Rates vary by car class, amount of miles driven and other factors.

Ally Financial is the former GMAC insurance company, which changed its name in 2010. The company was founded in 1939 and has branches in several countries around the world. They are active not only in the USA, but also in Canada, Mexico, and several countries in Europe. Besides car insurance, Ally also offers financing plans for purchasing or mortgaging vehicles.

Farmers Insurance Group is the third largest insurance group in the USA, providing service to over 10 Million households in 41 states. Farmers Group's headquarters are based in Los Angeles, but it is owned by a Swiss holding company. They offer insurances for privately and collectively used vehicles alike, and are therefore also a good choice for families.

Allstate Corporation was founded in 1931 and is since then one of the leading insurance companies in the United States and Canada. They are famous for low insurance rates combined with excellent customer service for all people. But especially teenagers and older people can find good insurance packages for their cars there.

A quite new company, Kemper, which was founded in 1990 as Unitrin, struggled its way up to become one of the leading insurance companies in the United States. Like several other companies, they offer excellent insurance rates for cars and other vehicles. Kemper helps more than 6 Million households with insurances for their assets.

Of course, the best insurance can never completely remove all the hassle that is involved with an accident. But knowing, that in the worst case you will be in good hands helps you be relaxed and therefore a safer driver.

Super-Traffic

On Sunday and Monday I attended a seminar in a city not far away from here. If the roads are empty, I can get there in about 30 minutes, even less. However, getting there in the morning is a much more complicated business.

I left my house on 7:00 to get there after 8:00. Traffic was like a snail. Moving very, very slowly. After I somehow made it there, I had to look for parking and pay quite a big sum to park there. On both days.

Something needs to be done about this problem. Building more roads on the surface is quite impossible, so the only solution is a subway or underground tunnel. Road capacity must increase.

Practicing and Preparing Tips

It's Friday again and it's time for some more great driving test tips. Here they come.

How to Pass Your Driving Test - 8 Tips for Practicing & Preparing Yourself for the Test

If you're feeling nervous or anxious about your driver's test, DON'T BE! You can prepare yourself by practicing with a good driver and taking advantage of online resources.

These resources include checklists, practice tests, how-to videos, interactive guides, and more. You can learn what to expect when you take the test. You might even be able to find maps of the test routes in your area!

These driving tips will also help you prepare for the test:

1. Practice every chance you get in a relatively empty area, such as an old country road or parking lot. The person with whom you practice should be either a professional or a very good, responsible driver.

2. Find out where the test routes are and practice driving in that area. There are normally 10 or so routes for every driving test center. If you get plenty of practice driving in the area beforehand, you will find the test taking process to be easy.

3. Adjust the seat to fit your height so that you will feel comfortable behind the wheel. Ideally, you should sit about a foot from the wheel, and your hands should be bent at approximately 45 degrees.

4. Don't forget the details! Remember to check your mirrors once in a while. Remember to brake gently whenever you prepare for a stop. Make sure you use signal lights whenever you make a turn or change lanes. And, of course, remember how to parallel park correctly!

5. Make sure you have all of the hand gestures and street signs down pat before you take the driver's test! This shouldn't be too hard just as long as you practice driving along the testing routes.

6. When you get in the car with the examiner, try to relax! Adjust the seat, mirrors, and the steering wheel. Make sure your examiner has his/her seatbelt on. Sometimes they will purposely leave it off just to see if you notice.

7. Practice parallel parking. When you parallel park, you should turn your indicators on. Failing to do so during the test will cost you points. Go carefully and slowly. Look to the sides and to the back. Try not to hit the curb.

8. This tip is a no-brainer, yet you'd be surprised at the number of people who forget to prepare their vehicles! Make sure you have the registration, and all of the indicators and headlights work. The tires should be in good condition and there should be no cracks in the windshield.
Follow these 8 tips and you should do well when you take your driving test.

Reading online driving guides and taking practice tests will help you pass your road test! Online guides cover everything from driving practicing tips to checklists. There are also videos that will teach you how to drive.

Getting your driver's license is not that hard. If you would like to pass your driving test without trying so hard, you should get yourself this amazing driving test guide.

The two most dangerous groups of drivers and young drivers and old drivers. To help identify which of the old drivers is more dangerous than others, Dr. Carol Snellgrove developed a very simple test: a maze.

The maze itself is very simple, and Dr. Snellgrove discovered that people who took more than 60 seconds to complete it are worse drivers than ones who needed less than a minute.

However, the only way to tell if someone is good or bad is through a real driving test. Even a maze can't replace that.

Insurance on a Rental Car

When driving a rental car, it's very important to have the proper insurance. The rental company usually provides some basic insurance, but it's always good to see what you're getting. Here is an article by about this topic.

Guide to Rental Car Insurance

Rental car insurance always baffles car owners as most of them don't even know whether it is worth buying or not. Most of the experienced agents from the top auto insurance companies will inform you that getting this kind of insurance is completely inefficient. Of course it is still applicable for some of the car owners, but most drivers are simply overpaying. There are several options that confirm it.

Now, the big secret is that pretty much all of the offers that rental company provides is already included with even most basic auto insurance. So by getting rental car insurance you are paying for the very same thing that you have already got, which is a waste of money. The best thing you can do is to investigate what options are covered by your provider prior going to the rental firm.

For instance, collision and comprehensive coverage can be excluded if you have it with your regular auto insurance. Even just collision insurance will be sufficient, as it is the most common with regular car insurance. Same is truth with the liability insurance coverage, that while being not such a frequent purchase can be neglected as well. Medical expenses are the least of your concerns, even if you don't have it in your auto insurance policy, you might just have separate health coverage. The only thing that is quite rare purchase with insurance company is personal effect coverage, which will help you to get compensation in case personal items like phone, laptop or cash will be stolen from a car.

So, as you can see most of the coverages that are included in a rental car insurance are available with your personal cheap auto insurance; it doesn't even have to be full coverage insurance. Even if you do not have insurance at all, since you are not a car owner and still want to rent a car, your credit card will work as your insurance. Certain amount is deducted daily from the card, depending on the firm that you rent the car with. Alternatively, if you are renting cars frequently you will be better off acquiring non-owner insurance coverage with any top auto insurance company, paying up to $600 maximum and avoiding those deductions from your card.

All in all you can see that rental car insurance is necessary only for those who don't have car insurance to begin with. If you do, make sure to check with your auto insurance company and the credit card company to be confirm that you are protected.

The winter has many advantages. Temperatures are low, so entering the car doesn't make me sweaty. There is no need for air conditioning, and the rain keeps my car clean. The problem starts after the rain is over.

There are some maintenance works on the road near my house, and they brought big piles of sand with them. The rain didn't go well with that, and the entire road, including my car, is full of mud.

A day after, it's all dry. The road is covered with sand and my car looks like an SUV even though it's a super-mini. Now I have to clean it. Again.

What Examiners Look For

Examiners may look scary to you when you take the test, but they are actually looking for very specific things that can easily be checked. Here is an article about it.

Driving Test Tips - Learn What Your Examiner Will Be Watching For

A driver's test isn't easy. Even if you're well-prepared, you still might make some mistakes. A large number of first-time takers fail. If you want to pass, you need to learn all there is to know about the test taking process. What is it that examiners watch for?

You can actually find driving test secrets online! There are guides which include details about what the examiners look for. If you know what they're going to look for ahead of time, you'll be able to better prepare yourself.

You can also prepare yourself by driving. In most areas, minors must complete 50 hours of training before taking a driving test. It's best to practice with a responsible adult who will be able to provide you with constructive criticism.

When you first start out, go to an empty parking lot. Get used to the feeling of being behind the wheel. Next, move on to an old country road with no traffic. Once you get the hang of staying in your lane, you can move on to a slightly busy road, and then finally to a busy road or freeway.

See if you can find some maps of the testing routes. They are available online for some cities. If you can't find a map of the testing routes in your city, ask friends where the testing site is and drive all around it and familiarize yourself with the signs.

Another useful resource you can find online is a checklist. A checklist will include reminders such as:

• When starting, accelerate smoothly.
• When stopping, brake gently.
• Steer smoothly. Never jerk the wheel.
• Pay attention to all of the signs.
• Always obey speed limits.
• Remember to signal for all turns and lane changes.
• Slow down at yellow lights. Prepare to stop for the red light.
• Use the three-second rule when following behind another vehicle.
• Always drive defensively. Anticipate other drivers' maneuvers.
• Keep your eyes scanning the road around you and in front of you.
• Make sure the vehicle is in correct gear!

These are just some examples of all of the things you need to remember to do when you drive.
You won't just be tested on how well you drive. Your vehicle will also be inspected. You won't even be able to take your test if something is wrong with your car or truck!

Here are some of the things the examiner will be checking for:

• Working brake lights
• Both turn signal lights
• A windshield that provides a full field of vision• Adequate brake pressure
• A working horn
• Working safety belts
• That the driver's door and passenger door(s) open from the outside and inside
• That the tires are in good condition
• A secured glove compartment door

Now you have a better idea of how to prepare yourself (and your car) for the driving test!

Check out some resources and tools to help you pass your driver's test! You can prepare yourself for the driving test by taking advantage of online resources, including checklists and practice tests.

Getting your driver's license is not that hard. If you would like to pass your driving test without trying so hard, you should get yourself this amazing driving test guide.

Half Fail a Trial Test

The Tucheng District in China was the place where a new trial driving test took place. The results, as you can guess from the title, are not so good.

A 50% fail rate is not uncommon, and it seems that even new tests can't help the learners raise this figure. Since this was a trial test, it was taken by 33 drivers who already have their license, so the new test didn't affect their future. And yet, even without this pressure, 17 of them failed.

I said it already, and I'll say it a thousand times more: practice, practice, practice!

Full Coverage Insurance for a Low Price

As you read here every Monday, car insurance is not cheap. However, can help you find a full coverage insurnace policy for a low price.

Cheap Full Coverage Auto Insurance

Why would one want to have full coverage auto insurance

Pretty much every sensible driver absolutely must have full coverage insurance whenever they can afford it. Who wouldn't want to drive without a fear of having an accident and not loosing tremendous amount of money? With it you can cover yourself all around from any kind of traffic complications. Such car insurance is especially needed if you are driving someone else's car or a company car. Even driving a car on a loan would be much safer if you have it fully insured. The only car owners that don't need it, are the ones whose car value is so low, that he or she would lose much more with this kind of auto insurance rather than totaling the car.

What one should have covered with full coverage auto insurance

First and foremost thing to consider is collision and comprehensive coverage. It is required to ensure that you will be reimbursed in case your car sustains any kind of damage, be that of hitting the car or your car drowning in a flood. Another major point is liability insurance coverage, which should be able to handle all of the legal expenses including paying off funds that were lost during the trial. And lastly you would need uninsured motorist coverage. In case a driver who has no insurance or is underinsured hits you, your own automobile insurance will assume the role of that person's insurance carrier and will arrange repairs and will cover the medical expenses if you have the health coverage as well. And that is another point; if you wish to find cheap full coverage auto insurance you can disregard the medical coverage if you have an adequate health policy.

How to get cheap full coverage auto insurance quotes

In order to receive cheapest car insurance you need to shop around. You probably heard that countless times, but it is genuinely the most effective way to find what you are looking for. There are numerous online resources and software available, which will help you to generate several best quotes for you. All you will need to do is single out the best ones that suit you and work from there. Do not forget to give those companies a call to confirm the details and inquire about the specials. Every insurance company provides certain discount for the full coverage insurance if you pay upfront and take it with additional packages, like life or health insurance. Some actually have bonus promotions, like covering the pet or replacing mechanical parts when they wear out. GEICO, Progressive, Nationwide, Infinity and almost all of the major auto insurance companies provide cheap full coverage insurance with extra features.

One can see the tremendous benefit a driver can obtain with the purchase of the full coverage car insurance. And the best thing is that if you do it smart you won't even have to pay ridiculously high rates for it. Follow the guidelines and enjoy safe and stress free ride for affordable price.

On Speed and Mileage

We often hear that high speeds are very gas consuming, and going slowly can help you save gas. But is it the truth? From my experience, the answer is no.

My car, like any new car, has a computer that calculates the distance left until the gas will run out (very inaccurate) and the gas mileage. Usually, it shows that my car does about 13 km per liter (multiply by 2.3625 to get miles per gallon). That figure matches all the traffic lights I have around here.

But when I go on the freeway (or get a miraculous green wave), I can often get this figure up to 15 and even 16 km per liter. This may seem like a small improvement, but it adds up quickly with long travels and the high price of gas around here.

What did you find? Higher speeds give you a better mileage figure or a worse one?

Score High on the Driving Test

Some people don't want just to pass the driving test, they want to do so with a high score (seriously, such people exist). For them, here is an article with great tips how to achieve this.

10 Tips for Getting High Marks on Your Driver’s Test

Are you getting ready to take your driver's license test? If so, then you're probably feeling anxious. Even if you get a lot of practice in, you still might end up forgetting something.

You'll be glad to know that there are tons of tips and resources online that will help you prepare yourself. You can even find secrets on things you can do to impress your test examiner!

To get you started, here are a few important things that you need to remember on the day of your test:

1. Don't forget to show signals for all turns! Remember to look both ways before turning or passing.

2. Pay close attention to speed limits. Don't go over the limit or under the limit. Some first-time test takers go slower than the speed limit. You don't want to do this. Practice driving along the test routes, at the appropriate speed limits, BEFORE you take the test.

3. Practice parallel parking. Take some large boxes and put them in an empty parking lot. Practice parking in between them.

4. When you're parallel parking, make sure you are approximately a meter apart from your car and the vehicle parked at the right side of the road. Be careful not to hit the curb!
5. When you see an approaching stop sign or red light, brake gently. You will be tested on whether your stops are hard or smooth!

6. When changing lanes, check the rearview mirror and your blind spots as you signal. If you're moving over two lanes, keep the signal on until you approach the selected lane.

7. Before you drive off, don't forget to check the mirror, signal properly, and check your blind spot. Don't get in a hurry. Wait until there's an opening which will give you plenty of time to get on the road.

8. Remember: yellow does NOT mean "go slow", it means "slow down" and prepare to stop for the red light! When the light finally turns green, or you get a green arrow, make sure that the road is clear of vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians.

9. Your eyes shouldn't be focused on the same spot the entire time! They should be moving from the left, in front of you, and to the right. Look in the review mirror every few seconds as well. Be aware of everything that is surrounding you from every direction.

10. Always anticipate what other drivers are about to do. If you anticipate that they are going to make a mistake, prepare to counter it. Don't let them cause you to crash out of nowhere. ALWAYS expect the unexpected!

If you follow these 10 tips, you should do well on your road test.

Did you know that there are tons of driving tips and resources online? You can find all of the information you need for preparing yourself for the test AND passing it! You can also find practice exams for the written road test.

Getting your driver's license is not that hard. If you would like to pass your driving test without trying so hard, you should get yourself this amazing driving test guide.

Harsh Law Softened

In B.C., Canada, there is a law stating that if you are caught driving drunk, your license can be suspended for 90 days, your car impounded, and will have to pay a few thousand dollars in fines and other fees to regain your driving privileges and your car.

However, a judge, Jon Sigurdson, found B.C.'s laws very harsh and decided to rule against them in court.

His main argument was the inability of the driver to challenge the results. People caught driving drunk had no right for a lawyer, and the BAC measuring device had no memory, so there is no way to challenge the machine after the initial test.

Hopefully Sigurdson's ruling will signal lawmakers everywhere that we want safe roads, but we want our rights as well.

Annoying Traffic Lights

Traffic lights around my house have sensors. It means that whenever I am not on the main road and I stop at the line, a sensor sends a signal that makes the light turn green. If there is no traffic coming from other directions, I only have to wait a few seconds until I get a green.

Sadly, it doesn't work the same way in all traffic lights. Last week I went to a basketball game and all I wanted was to turn right into the parking lot. I had to wait THREE rounds before the light turned green. Someone didn't do a really good job in there.

Hopefully this situation will be fixed soon. It's nearly impossible to drive there during events.

Prepare Well For A Great Test

It's another Friday, which means it's time for some more driving test tips. Here they are.

Driving Test Tips: Learn How to Prepare Yourself So That Your Road Test Goes Smoothly

Everybody wants to get their driver's license on the first try. Unfortunately, only 50% of test takers pass the first time. Either they're not prepared or they're simply too nervous to concentrate. If you are worried that you might not pass, you need to practice every day.

Not only should you practice, you should also study and take practice tests. The internet is filled with helpful information. You can read online guides which include secrets that will help you get through the big day.

Here are a few driving tips to help you get started:

1. As with anything, the more you practice, the more comfortable you will be. Practice driving with a responsible adult. Check out Google Earth to get a good view of the testing site. Go driving around the testing area every single day. Practice until you know the testing routes like the back of your hand.

2. You're not going to get very far with your driving if you don't learn the rules! You won't become a good driver if you don't learn the rules of the road. Sure, the DMV handbook is boring to read, but if you look on the internet you can find some fun interactive guides, which include how-to videos and practice tests.

3. The more you practice and learn, the more confident you will be. Confidence is essential if you want to pass your driving test! You'll be less likely to feel nervous. One thing that you DON'T want to do is to rely solely on the regular guidebook given to you by the DMV. There are better guides online.

4. Of course, there's no guarantee that you won't feel some nervousness on the big day. No matter how well you prepare yourself, your nerves still might be on edge. Make sure you get plenty of sleep the night before so that you feel refreshed during the test. Work out the night before so that you will get good sleep and feel less stressful in the morning. You might also want to envision that the test examiner is someone else, such as a parent or aunt.

5. Do you have any friends who recently took their road test? Ask them what you can expect. Ask them what their examiner was like. If the examiner sounds scary, ask your friend what mistakes he/she made so that you can avoid making them just in case you end up with the same scary examiner.

6. Practice driving with a RESPONSIBLE adult - not that cool aunt who will lie back and let you do whatever you want. The person with whom you practice should also be calm. You'll never learn how to drive if the person in the passenger seat yells at you over every little thing you do.
If you follow these driving test tips, you should be able to pass your exam on the first try! Good luck!

You can learn tons of driving test secrets online. There are guides, videos, and practice quizzes that will provide you with everything you need for preparing yourself. You can also learn about the common mistakes that first-time testers make, and what you can do to avoid making those mistakes.

Getting your driver's license is not that hard. If you would like to pass your driving test without trying so hard, you should get yourself this amazing driving test guide.

Hopefully this article will help you,

First Time Driving: Mariela

Being a driving teacher isn't easy, especially when you are afraid of dying and you mask that with a hysterical laugh. Watch this video to see what I mean.

This video was uploaded five days ago, so Mariela still has a very long time to go until she gets her license. She is pretty good here, so she will probably have no trouble passing.

Good luck!
