Insuring Commercial Vehicles

If you drive a commercial vehicle, you will have to insure yourself with more than just the ordinary insurance. Here is an article by Linda J Blakeney about this topic.

Finding a Commercial Auto Insurance Company

The road to success cannot be driven without company vehicles, which is the way it is for many business owners. They are essential to the company's livelihood and is key part of the business' continued operations.

You should never consider driving your business vehicle without the right insurance coverage, just like you'd never consider going on a job without all the necessary tool of your trade. It is tricky finding the right commercial auto insurance company. It is so important that you select one that meets the needs of your business because there are a lot of companies offering commercial auto coverage.

Of all the factors you'll need to take into account that will have the biggest impact on you and your business will be the company's experience with commercial auto insurance and the claims service they will give. As you consider different commercial auto insurance companies here are some questions you should ask your self or you independent insurance agent:

  1. What types of businesses do they have experience with? Are they familiar with your line of work?

  2. How long has this company offered commercial auto coverages?

  3. Will they understand the needs that are unique to your specific line of business?

  4. Can they be sure that you will get the right coverage for your business?

  5. Does their customer service excel? You need fast, correct and focused on your profit, 24/7 service. And because you can't count on having the time to deal with such matters during regular business house. You may need them to handle your insurance business need on nights and weekends.

  6. Do they offer competitive and flexible products?

  7. How about their payment options?

  8. What about comparing the types of coverages, payment options and payment plans that can help small business owners to keep up necessary cash flow.

  9. How about their demonstrated record of claims experience?

Vehicle down-time kept to a minimum is vital to any business. Your profits are affected by every minute your vehicle is out of commission. Is this company known for its efficient claims service and fast, fair resolutions? For many businesses, keeping their company vehicles on the road is critical for continued success.

In many state there is a state law that you must have vehicle insurance before using or keeping a motor vehicle on public roads. Most jurisdictions relate insurance to both the car and the drivers; however the degree of each varies greatly.

Several jurisdictions have experimented with a "pay-as-you-drive" insurance plan which will be paid through a gasoline tax. This would address issues of uninsured motorists and also charge based on the miles driven, which could theoretically increase the efficiency of the insurance, through streamlined collection.

One Mile Per Hour

After my short trip to Canada I am back in the US. Besides the beautiful views, I have discovered something very important when I tried to cross the border back to the US. I found the definition of one mile per hour.

Crossing the border on a Saturday is not a smart idea. Many people try to cross the border at this time, and the little investigation with the CBP officer takes a while, so there is a long line of cars waiting to cross. I had to stand for an hour in a mile-long line. That's how I found out the definition of one mile per hour.

Now I'm in the US again, measuring speeds in miles per hour, like my car does. Actually, it feels much better.

Preparation Tips

If you are now preparing for your driving test, be sure to check out those tips.

Helpful Tips on How to Prepare for a Driving Test

Are you trying to get your driver's license? If so, then you're probably feeling very nervous. Even if you've been practicing a lot, your nerves may still get the best of you. On the other hand, you don't want to be TOO confident, either. You should be confident, but not overly so.

Ideally, you should be practicing with a professional or good driver whom you trust. The person with whom you practice should be somebody who is responsible. You should be provided with constructive criticism as you practice.

Now, here are a few tips for helping you prepare for the big day:

Practice on the Test Routes

Just make sure it's legal to do this in your area. Try to get a map of the testing routes, there are several per driving test center. If you can't get a map, then at least practice driving around the area near the test center. Familiarize yourself with the streets in that area. Take note of all of the street signs.

Know How to Adjust Everything Properly

When you first get into the car, make sure you fit in the seat properly. You should be sitting at least a foot from the steering wheel. Your hands should be bent comfortably at around 45 degrees. Everyone should have their seat belt on.

Always Drive at a Safe Speed

The safe speed isn't always what the speed limit sign says. Try to follow the speed limit as best you can, although the conditions won't always allow for it. Sometimes you'll have to go with the flow of traffic. If the road conditions are bad, you will have to go slower than what the sign says.

Practice All of the "Small" Things

Nothing is trivial when it comes to practice driving. Always remember to do things such as:

• Checking your rear view mirror regularly.

• Checking your overhead mirror once in awhile.

• Coming to a full stop at intersections and stop signs.

• Using the indicator properly.

• Parallel parking correctly.

• Starting the vehicle smoothly.

• Timing entry into the freeway.

• Changing lanes safely.

You will be tested on all of these things, as well as much more.

Look Over the Written Material

Don't get so caught up in the driving practice that you neglect the written material. You must know all of the rules of the road before you can practice properly. Also, look over diagrams of what to do in various driving situations. You can learn a lot by looking over drawings and diagrams.

Online driving guides are your best bet. You can learn many more tips for preparing for the big days. You can also find checklists of things to learn in order to pass the test. What will the examiner be testing you on? Online driving courses will teach you everything you need to know!

Getting your driver's license is not that hard. If you would like to pass your driving test without trying so hard, you should get yourself this amazing driving test guide.

Filing a Claim

If you had an accident or any event that triggers your insurance, you need to file a claim. Here is an article by Raphael Locsin explaining the process.

How to File an Auto Insurance Claim

Filing an insurance claim following an accident is not the most complicated procedure that ever was, but it is not as simple as saying "I have been in an accident. Take care of this for me, would you?" There are steps you must take to successfully file your claim and you will find them listed below. This is basic information and may vary depending on the state where the accident occurred.

Step 1:

While you are still at the accident scene, call 911. This will alert law enforcement that there has been an accident, and you need them to be there even if it was a minor event. In order to file a claim for an accident, there must first be a police report filed.

Step 2:

Get the other parties information. You want to have their name, contact information and auto insurance information. This will help make your claim filing go smoother.

Step 3:

If there were witnesses to the accident, get their information as well. When filing an auto insurance claim, you want all the information you can get. This makes the process easier.

Step 4:

Contact your insurance company right away. Having your insurance card with you is always a good idea for just such an occasion. The person you speak to will help you with the claim filing process. Even if you are not the one who caused the accident, you want to take this step. It is always recommended that you file a claim with your own insurance company since each company is out to protect the best interests of their own clients. Just because you are filing a claim when you are not at fault does not mean you are in any way accepting responsibility. You are simply covering all the necessary bases.

Step 5:

If the other party is indeed at fault, contact their auto insurance company as well. You should inform them that you have filed a claim through your own company and they will be seeking reimbursement since you are not at fault. Let them know that your company will also be seeking damages for all the things that they will not be paying for you. This includes all expenses that you are not covered for under you own policy.

Step 6:

You will likely get a call very soon after the accident from the responsible party's insurance company. Speak with your carrier to find out what you should or should not say to them. Also, if there is issue with personal injury, you should speak with your attorney before you talk to the other insurance company in order to best protect your interests. If you choose to speak with them, write down or record the conversation as they will be doing the same.

Step 7:

An adjuster will be coming to look at the damage done to your car. They will estimate what it is worth and either repair it or declare it a total loss. The insurance company will give you a check for the vehicle itself or for the estimated repairs. You do not have to agree with the adjuster's estimation or price offer. If you are unsure of how to proceed, speak with your insurance company or attorney.

Your claim has now been filed and it is up to you, the carriers and maybe an attorney how to carry on from here.

Find out how you can save by requesting a quote for cheap car insurance in California or visit the author's website at http://www.shiftins.com. You can always call (562)714-9424 to speak with an agent instantly.

Oh Canada

After visiting the US, I have arrived at Canada. After quite an investigation I was let in the country just to find out one simple truth about its roads: they are exactly the same as in the US.

Same traffic laws, same markings, all the same. The only two noticeable differences are the traffic lights which are horizontal for some weird reason and the measurements are done in the metric system.

Since I come from a place that uses the metric system, Canada should be great for me. However, it turns out that even with higher numbers, speed limits are lower in this northern country.

Next week I'll go back to the US, the land of the inch and the home of the mile.

Tips for the Driving Test Itself

It's another Friday, which means it's time for some more tips about the driving test. Here it comes.

8 Driving Test Tips for Passing and Getting Your License

Many people feel nervous before taking their driving exam because they don't know what to expect. The test takes approximately 20 minutes, during which time an examiner will keep a close eye on the student driver. If you are preparing for your driving test, then you need to know what to expect beforehand. This way, you know what to practice on.

Here are some tips for preparing:

1. Keep in mind that the test will consist of basic maneuvers one can expect while driving: left and right turns, driving in reverse, lane changes, stops at intersections, parallel parking, etc.

2. Don't view the DMV examiner as an enemy. He or she is simply there to ensure that you demonstrate that you can handle the vehicle properly. He/she actually WANTS you to pass. Take a few deep breaths before you begin.

3. Don't forget to slow down for turns! Always begin and end a turn in the correct lane. You should also know when to yield the right of way. Accept your right of way when it's safe to do so.

4. Your eyes should always be moving. Don't just stare straight ahead. Know what is going on all around you at all times. Follow the vehicle in front of you at a safe distance. Always be on the lookout for signal lights and signs. You will be tested on your ability to drive defensively.

5. When you practice driving, regularly check over your shoulder to watch for blind spots. Try to maintain the same (safe) speed, unless you are slowing for a stop or preparing to pass the vehicle in front of you. While you're at it, practice signaling properly.

6. Before you even get out on the road, make sure the mirrors and seat are adjusted. It's your responsibility to ensure that everyone is wearing their seat belts. You should familiarize yourself with all of the operating controls.

7. You will also be tested on your ability to move out properly. In addition to signaling, you should also practice holding the steering wheel as you pull out. Look over your shoulder and in mirrors before you pull into traffic.

8. Study written material so that you can familiarize yourself with the rules of the road. The DMV guide may not be enough. Check out online driving courses to learn everything there is to know about passing a driving test.

If you follow these tips, you should be able to pass your driver's license test with flying colors!

Get started with an online driving course right now and get the information you need to pass! You will have the resources you need for passing at your fingertips. If you've already taken it and failed, you will definitely pass the next time!

Getting your driver's license is not that hard. If you would like to pass your driving test without trying so hard, you should get yourself this amazing driving test guide.

Finding Insurance Quotes Online

Finding car insurance online is much easier today than it used to be. Here is an article by Adam Hallson about the simplicity of the process.

How to Find Car Insurance Quotes Online

Finding car insurance quotes online is not actually that hard - in fact it is one of the easiest ways possible to find insurance overall, simply because it allows you to compare prices so easily. There is no easier alternative, because the internet caters to your needs in this way so well and on so many levels.

Not only will you also tend to find cheaper auto insurance online, but the ease of access is tremendous. This is why I would highly recommend that you look for insurance by getting online quotes to compare and save on your auto insurance, simply because it is so easy. It takes very little time if you know where to start looking, and since the insurers themselves can save money by advertising online they can offer you far better quotes when you look for auto insurance.

This is what is so great - there are no downsides to looking at quotes online. They are cheaper, quicker and easier to compare - there is no better way than getting quotes online to find the cheapest and best deals.

Some companies even go to the extent of only offering their best offers to those who look at insurance quotes online, meaning that it is definitely the best place to start if you are wondering how to go about getting your first quote or renewing your current insurance.

The other beauty of this method is that submitting car insurance quotes online is incredibly fast. All you need to do is fill out a form to begin with, detailing certain aspects of your car and the like, and they can give you a rough estimate within seconds, and can easily get back to you to offer you more details on auto insurance.

Hands down this makes looking for insurance quotes the best position that you have when it comes to renewing your car insurance. It can be a lengthy and frustrating process overall, but by looking at car insurance quotes online you can really cut down on the overall time you spend doing it and the overall stress it can cause. Let's face it, we have enough stress in our lives already.

As such, the next time that you need to renew your auto insurance simply look for car insurance quotes online, and you will start saving both time and money incredibly fast, making it an incredibly worthwhile venture for you and your family.

Focus Your Learning

When learning to drive, there are several points you should focus on. Here is an article I wrote about this topic.

Tips for Learning How to Drive - What Should You Focus On?

If you are planning to get your driver's license, then you need to learn how to drive properly. You need to know all of the rules of driving in order to pass the exam. Ideally, you should be confident in your driving ability, yet not OVERLY confident to the point where you're not cautious.

Hopefully, you are practicing with a good instructor. You can find resources and tools online to help you prepare for the test. Take that information and apply it when you are out practicing. You need to learn everything from parallel parking to the laws in your area. You should also make sure that the vehicle is in excellent condition.

Here are some tips on practicing:

• When you practice braking, make sure you do it slowly. Don't just suddenly step down on the brake pedal. This will get points knocked off of your test. When you stop a vehicle, just use a small amount of traction. All it takes is a gently push for the wheels to stop.

• As soon as you get in the vehicle, always remember to do the following: adjust the mirrors, put on your seat belt, make sure your passenger(s) have their seat belts on, start the vehicle, release the parking brake, make sure nobody is behind you while backing out, and signal properly.

• You need to know how to maintain proper speed. Always be aware of who to yield to and what to do when other drivers yield to do. You should also know which lane you are supposed to drive in and, which lane to turn into when it's time to turn.

• Make sure you know how to work everything, including the parking brake, windshield wipers, headlights, parking lights, and other instruments. Your examiner will be testing you on the knowledge of all of the instruments during the test.

• Pay close attention to others when they drive. Have a good, responsible driver take you around in his or her vehicle. While you are the passenger, observe everything that he or she does. Imagine that you yourself are doing the same thing, and your practice should go easier.

• Don't forget to check your blind spot! This is a common reason why some people fail! Always check your blind spot whenever you pull out of a parking spot or change lanes. Don't rely on the mirrors alone.

• Print out maps of the area around the test center and practice driving on those roads. Mark difficult areas such as challenging junctions and one-way streets, and practice driving on them everyday.

As long as you put a lot of focus into your studying and practicing, all should go well. Good luck!

Get ready to take your driving test by taking an online driving course! There are many resources and practice quizzes online. You can prepare yourself for the road exam by looking over these helpful guides. You can also find a checklist of every single thing the examiner will be watching you do.

Getting your driver's license is not that hard. If you would like to pass your driving test without trying so hard, you should get yourself this amazing driving test guide.

Consider an Agent

When buying insurance, you may want to consider to do so through an agent, as Dodson Morse writes in his article. Please be aware that Mr. Morse has an interest in this article.

Why Choose The Services of an Auto Insurance Agent?

There used to be a time when people used to hire auto insurance agents to get the work done for the insurance policy of the automobile. The agents would provide assistance in the areas where there would be some ambiguity. These people would guide you through the whole process of getting the insurance sanctioned to you with the least amount of input and make the whole deal hassle free.

There are many guides that are available to get through the various schemes that there are in insurance. Since the agent is the one who has the in depth knowledge of the whole scheme of all the insurance policies that are made available it is a simple task for him to make the work smoother for you. He is the one who ought to be able to help you in the most suitable way. They know how to get the insurance amount quickly and with almost no hassles. The coverage is completed immediately and the amount reimbursed.

These people know exactly how the documentation needs to be done and will help you produce all the documents that are required for the job. If you do not have the necessary document s then it becomes exceedingly difficult for you to avail the insurance package. They will make this work easier and thus if you are in an emergency then it is something that provides you great relief.

The advancement of technology has made these processes very simple. The people now prefer to rely on the internet and the data that is available there than to get involved with these agents to get the thing done. The internet has ample number of websites that will provide you with the exact information as to what you need to do and you can do all this research at home at your own leisure. This also helps you save a lot of money which would have otherwise gone to the insurance agent.

There is a checklist of discounts that the insurance company gives. Make sure that you have a copy and a backup of this checklist and then you should keep updating the list with the criteria given and have a tab on the insurances that you are eligible for. These discounts are something that can save you plenty of money if used properly. There is a ratio of the number of drivers to the number of vehicles owned by the family. The ideal scenario is when the number of members in the house and the vehicles in the house are in the ratio of 1:1. This will help you get the whole insurance done with a lesser charge.

There are still some places where there is some ambiguity and to be able to overcome such problems it is usually the best to hire someone like the insurance agent to take care of the whole process and he will be able to save you a lot of money and tell you what exactly you need to do.

Nowadays there are many companies that provide Auto Insurance in Las Vegas.

Different State Roads

Since my trip has started, I visited different states. From what I saw, different states have different road conditions and even different road markings.

So far, California has the worst roads and highest gas prices. Probably because this state is nearing bankruptcy. The moment I crossed the road to Arizona the roads were in much better condition.

Nevada has its own uniqueness too - in big city and nearby freeways the roads are marked with "button" that reflect light.

And finally, in Utah the roads are pretty good. Nothing special.

In the upcoming weeks: Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Canada, Washington, and Oregon. There is something to wait for.

Guidelines for Learning

If you are learning to drive, there are some guidelines and tips that can help you. Here is an article I wrote about this topic.

Learning to Drive? Check Out These Guidelines for Preparing for a Road Test

Student drivers always want to know what they need to practice on in order to pass the driving test. This is one of the biggest and most important tests you will ever take, so it's important that you prepare properly ahead of time. Not only do you need to practice driving, you also need to make sure that your vehicle will pass inspection. It needs to be in good working condition so that you can drive it during the exam. Here are some ways you can prepare yourself (and your vehicle) for the driving exam.

Make Sure it Passes Inspection

Many student drivers tend to overlook this part of the test. If the vehicle doesn't pass the initial inspection, you won't be able to drive it anyway. Make sure everything works properly, and that the windows are clean. Have it inspected before you ever start to drive.

Practice Parking

You'll have to prove your ability to park your car in a parallel parking spot AND in a standard parking space. Both parking techniques will take a lot of practice - especially the former. You can practice parking with the use of boxes or something similar. An online driving course will show you, step-by-step, how to do both

Practice Slowing Down

Don't wait too long to brake when you slow down. Waiting too long to do so will wear the brakes out. You need to know when to start braking so that you can gently bring the car to a stop. Also, always maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you just in case it comes to a sudden stop.

Practice Stopping

Stopping is one of the most common reasons for failing driving tests. Many drivers actually think they have stopped for a red light or stop sign when they are still moving a bit. You must come to a COMPLETE stop at any stop sign or red light. A yellow light doesn't necessarily mean to "proceed slowly". It means to slow down to prepare for a stop. To make sure you are stopping completely, press down a little bit harder on the brake and count to five before releasing the brakes.

Practice Signaling

Part of driving safely is to let other drivers know what you are about to do. Always know which turn signal to use when you are turning a corner or switching lanes. You will also need to signal when you are pulling out of a parking place.

If you keep these guidelines in mind, you should be able to prepare for your driver's test. Good luck!

If you know what the examiner will be testing you on, you will be able to practice better. You can find a checklist of things you will be tested on if you check out an online driving course. A basic driving handbook isn't enough these days. You need to check out online driving guides as well.

Getting your driver's license is not that hard. If you would like to pass your driving test without trying so hard, you should get yourself this amazing driving test guide.

I hope this article helped you.

Insurance With No Down Payment

You may have seen some ads for auto insurance with no down payment. What's the deal behind these offers? Here is an article by William R Furtado that will help you understand.

No Down Payment For Auto Insurance?

So many signs we see today stating zero down payment for car insurance. NO DOWN Ads in local newspapers clearly showing the (0 with a slash through it) - NO DOWN PAYMENT! Then... in small, barely legible print... restrictions apply? This is a tactic that has reared its ugly head for quite some time now in the auto insurance industry. I was talking to a married couple at the supermarket one day - chatting about insurance like I always do lol - they said they had just visited one of those NO DOWN PAYMENT agencies? I said "oh yeah? How did that work out for you? Were you able to get the insurance from the agent with no down payment?" They laughed out loud and answered, "NO", and the broker that advertised NO DOWN PAYMENT on his agency window - when all was said and done - wanted $450.00 to start the insurance policy. I asked, "what happened to the zero down payment?" Their answer, "the broker informed us that the zero down payment was included in the $450.00 he wanted to start the policy. Then he told us that it wasn't a down payment? we were simply paying the fees and the first months premium?" You should have seen her face? You probably have the same look of puzzlement right now if you aren't laughing hysterically!

I don't know about you but for me... if money is leaving my hand and going into an insurance agent/brokers hand for car insurance I just paid the down payment! If the premium is $695.00 every six months and you cannot pay the entire amount then you would have to schedule the payments into monthly, quarterly, or some other kind of payment plan in order to pay the insurance premium.

NO DOWN PAYMENT makes no sense for a couple of reasons. Each and every insurance company requires a fiduciary (Premium) from the agency you are buying the insurance from. If you can pay the entire six month premium then why would the amount be sometimes higher than what the insurance company requires? This is called a broker fee. We will discuss the differences between an agent and a broker in the next article. Bottom line - zero down payment does not exist. Always buy your Auto, Home, Life insurance etc from an authorized insurance agent. That way you know you will not be paying extra fees in your down payment.
