Today's first time driver is Mady, who is a very serious competitor in the "least self esteem" competition of our first time drivers. Her video is called "Fail @ Driving" and she keeps putting subtitles saying "Fail" all over the video. But the best part of the video is definitely finding out what is "PRNDL". See if you can guess by yourself before watching the video (don't scroll down!).
Did you finish yet? Did you see what's the "PRNDL"?
Yes, it's the gear shifter, named after the letters that represent gears in automatic cars. A fantastic name.
This video was uploaded on September of this year, so Mady still has a long way to go. Hopefully by then she will gain self confidence, learn how to turn her car, and use the "PRNDL" correctly.
Good luck!

Lethal Grandma
Sometimes grandmothers can be deadly. I'm not talking about the times they stuff their kids and grandkids with candy, but about the times they get drunk. Then they become really lethal.
Allison Downer, a 70 year old grandmother, allegedly was driving drunk on September 18. While driving, she drove at Frank Van Kampen, a teacher who was riding his bike. Frank was killed by that hit.
Frank's friend said that Downer's driving was not very good from the beginning, and she passed a few cars before hitting Frank. She also hopes Downer will be charged with at least a manslaughter.
The trial will go in session soon, and will hopefully make justice with Frank.

Some More Great Test Tips
Driving test tips are what all learner drivers are looking after, and it even brought this blog a nice award. To continue this tradition, here is another article with some great tips, this time by Alan Vale.
Driving Test - Passing the Tests
Passing the driving test can be one of the hardest and most stressful things for you to do. You have practiced for months and are excited about finally being able to get a driver's license. You get behind the wheel and your excitement turns to nervousness. You start sweating and start to wonder, "Am I going to pass this driving test?"
All the anxiety takes its toll. Did you use your mirrors? Did you use your turn signals? Did you take too long to parallel park? All these questions and more are running through your head. No wonder it is so stressful!
You look at the examiner. You want to see some sign of how you did on the examiner's face. The examiner turns to you and tells you that you didn't pass. What? How could that happen? It's more common than you think.
Sure you have been practicing for months. You have taken every opportunity that you could grab; you even took your mom to the store. The only problem is remembering everything when you are taking your exam. In normal, everyday driving, you don't always get the chance to do things like parallel parking. You also, after a while, get used to doing some things as a reflex. For instance, checking your mirrors to backup or turning on the radio. When taking the driving test, sometimes these habits get in the way.
The written test is another problem all together. Different states have different standards for passing the test. What you have to study for each state can vary greatly; one state may lean more towards recognizing signs and another more towards knowing the laws.
Did you know that there is a more than a fifty percent chance that you will not pass the written test the first time? The odds are stacked against you! Sometimes this is because of nervousness, you know, when you get the test in front of you and suddenly you can't remember any of the answers. Sometimes, it is simply not studying enough of the right information. You studied all the signs, only to find out that there weren't any signs on the test.
The driving test does not have to be so hard. The key is having enough confidence in yourself and your abilities to be able to master taking the test. Nervousness and doubt can be your downfall. People have a tendency of making mistakes when they are nervous. People also have a tendency of second guessing themselves on tests, especially if it is multiple choice or true/false.
Being confident when you take your driving test takes away most of the anxiety. You're still going to be a little nervous, but not necessarily enough to make mistakes. When you are confident of your answers, you are more likely not to read the question again and allow yourself the opportunity to second guess yourself.
Now isn't it a better scenario to be able to walk in and take the driving tests and pass them the first time?
Alan Vaile is an expert blogger and gives you very good reviews about the best motor sites in Internet. In the next link you can take a look at one of the best Driving Test sites

I hope you found Alan's tips valuable for you. If I was learning to drive, I would've definitely used them.

Another Fantastic Night Drive
Night driving is one the greatest pleasures of life. Traffic lights are shiny, they are always green, and there is no traffic at all. It's just a dream. Luckily, I had such a drive a few days ago, when I drove to a friend's birthday party.
When I drove back home, I had to drive some friends back home (they were drunk and tired). After I dropped one at home, I encountered a police block. The officer asked me if I drank, I said no, and he let me go. I really didn't drink, and I also don't look like the lying kind.
Eventually I came home pretty tired, but very happy. Another successful night drive complete.
Have a great, safe weekend!

Some More Test Tips for Your Success
Tips and tricks are what everyone is after when it comes to driving tests. All student drivers want the hottest tip to pass, how to get over that "annoying" examiner and how to shorten the way to the license. I wrote an article with some tips. They won't help you trick the examiner, but they will definitely help him or her appreciate you.
Driving Test Help - 5 Tips For Helping You Get Through the Exam
If you're going to take your driver's exam soon, you're probably feeling nervous. If so, then you're doing a good thing by looking for advice online. The internet is filled with plenty of tools and resources that'll provide you with the information and knowledge you'll need for passing.
Here are a few pointers on things you need to remember to do on the day of your driving test:
• If you need to slow down or stop, promptly take your foot off the gas pedal and then slowly, gently press down on the brakes. You need to slow down smoothly in order for the examiner to be pleased.
• Before turning right, visualize the center lane of the road onto which you'll be turning to be ahead of you, and use it as your focus point.
• Choose the appropriate gear ahead of time. Most people usually choose second gear. Never, ever change in the middle of a maneuver, as you will not want to take your hand off the wheel at all.
• If you need to stop for more than ten seconds, don't forget to use the handbrake. This will prevent your vehicle from rolling; and that will certainly be a bad thing if you're in heavy traffic.
• Get plenty of rest the night before the exam and eat breakfast the morning before the appointed time. Even if you're too nervous to eat, do so anyway, as you'll drive even worse if you're on an empty stomach.
Follow these five tips and read other how-to guides online. There are online driver's exam study courses and practice tests that'll really help you prepare. Be sure to check them out so that you can have a good idea of what you can expect during exam time.
Whatever you do, don't allow yourself to become too nervous. While you'll undoubtedly be somewhat nervous during your driving exam, you can increase your chances of getting through the driver's test successfully if you check out online study courses first.
Hope you found this useful,
