The Faster Speed of Sound

In some places, it seems like sound is faster than light. For example, in the traffic light near my house some people honk before the light has turned green.

Yes, some people have no patience at all and they want me to move right when they reach the light. However, when the light is red I have no option but to stay there and wait for it to become green.

Hopefully people will grow more patient soon, or I'll lose my mind. Seriously.
