April Rain

It's amazing, it's unbelievable, but it's raining. April is about to end, but the winter is still here. Usually, this is the time we all suffer super-hot temperatures, but this year seems much milder.

I hope this lovely weather will continue throughout the summer as well. A cool summer can really be a great perk.

Hail the Weather

It's winter time. Usually that doesn't bother me too much, but last week was a major annoyance. Besides the near-freezing temperatures, there was another form of precipitation this week: hail.

Hail usually comes when the temperatures are low, and they were indeed low. Only six degrees Celcius in some cases, and even lower in other places. After an hour of hail, my car was covered with ice and I was frozen inside my clothes.

This week it's going to be better. I hope.

Freezing Out There

Winter is definitely here. Besides the rain, wind, and potholes, it's also cold. Very cold. In fact, so cold that I cannot see through my mirrors when backing out of my driveway and I have to open the windows. And freeze.

Well, it's actually not THAT cold, compared to North America. We don't get actual freezing temperatures, but more or less 10 degrees Celcius. Enough to force me to use the defroster, not enough to force me to turn on the air conditioner in the car.

The really bad part comes when it's raining and freezing and I have to step out of the car. That's the part I try to make the shortest.

Have a great, non-freezing weekend!

Cooling Down

Finally, after a long, exhausting summer (just a month for me, but still too much) the weather starts cooling in here. Going out at night is no longer a nightmare and driving during the day does not require fully powered air conditioning.

Driving is much more relaxed now. When the temperatures are lower, it's much easier to concentrate on the road. During the summer, all I did was concentrate on how how it is. Not an ideal way to drive.

Hopefully this trend continues in the near future until May at least (but probably will end on March).

Frosty Weather

It's the middle of January, and it's super-cold. For me, a single digit temperature (Celcius, of course) is super-cold, and lately we're reaching 6 and even 5 degrees around here, which makes going out very difficult.

Driving in the morning is near impossible. The car is freezing, and all the windows are covered with dew. The windshield is easy to wipe (and the rear window, since I have a wiper there as well), but the mirrors and side windows require some manual clean up, which freezes the hand.

As far as I dislike this cold weather, I wouldn't trade it for one second with the summer weather, which makes driving nearly impossible without a fully-operating air conditioner.
