Passing the Theory Test Easily

The first step of getting your driver's license is getting through the theory test. Here is an article I wrote about doing it easily.

The Easy Steps To Passing Your Theory Driving Test

Passing your driving test can prove to be an extremely daunting task if at all you are not careful about the theory part of the driving test. This is simply because of the fact that a lot of people feel that if at all they know how to drive, then they need not worry so much about what they refer to as "theoretical knowledge that won't help on the road." However, it is important to know that no matter how good you are at driving, it will be of really no help to you if at all you will not have a full grasp of the theoretical knowledge. For this reason, we are going to look at what you can do to make sure that you are well ahead of your peers when you set out to go and do your exams.

Get A Study Manual

If you want to pass your driving test<, you need to get yourself a study manual so that you can have all the details with you without any problems at all. The study guide or study manual is what is going to provide you with the basic information. Here, you should not look so much at the manual that will give you a lot of tests to do, but you should look for one that will provide you with as much necessary information as possible.

Do Your Revision

After you have done your studies, the next thing that you should consider is the issue of revisions. This is where you will be required to do a lot of research so as to make sure that you cover all the areas that are required. There are plenty of online sites that will give you all the necessary tests that you will need in order to be thorough in the theory section. A number of these sites will require you to pay for them, but a good number will also offer the content for free.

Be Sober On The Day Of The Test

This does not relate to drinking - because that is obvious enough - but it relates to the fact that you should not panic, and you should be calm. If you are calm and not in a panic mode, you will surely be able to achieve the most in the test that you will be handling.

These three simple things will guarantee that when the day of sitting for the test comes, you are at your best.

Getting your driver's license is not that hard. If you would like to pass your driving test without trying so hard, you should get yourself this amazing driving test guide.

Tips for Your Theory Test

Before getting your license, you need to pass your theory test first. For some people, this can be as hard as the practical test. Here are some tips by Lucinda Colingson to help you cope with that.

Theory Test - 5 Important Tips to Help You Pass

A lot of people mainly concentrate on the main practical driving test and often overlook the theory test. They think it's easy and they will probably pass first time only to end up with egg on their face. It's important to try and pass your theory test as soon as possible so it doesn't hold you back in your quest to gain a full license.

1) Revise, revise and revise again...

Buy an up to date revision book and read it through until you're bored of it. This is all stuff you need to know anyway so you will have to learn it at some point. Treat it like you did when you were revising for your GCSE and a-level exams. It's important to take it just as seriously.

2) Take practise tests

These days there are a range of practise tests you can do either on DVD or online. This is as close as you can get to the real thing. So if you can pass these tests you will probably have no problem with the actual theory test. Do a revision session with a mock exam at the end of it every time and track your results to see what improves.

3) Speak to others who have already passed

It doesn't hurt to ask for advice, especially with the hazard test. Those who have already passed can often tell you interesting things to look out for or be aware of then you might not have previously thought of.

4) Prepare on the day correctly

On the day you have your theory booked, try and book an afternoon appointment and if possible take the morning off work. You can get a lot of extra revision done that will stay fresh in your mind. If coming straight from work or college to the test centre you may already have a million other things on your mind from your day so far and won't be fully focused on the theory test.

5) Don't tell anyone

Lastly, don't tell anyone that you're going to take your theory. Not even your parents. When you tell everyone you immediately put yourself under more pressure to pass and you feel even worse when you don't. Best thing is to keep it to yourself and when you do pass it will be a nice surprise for your family. If you don't pass then just keep it to yourself and try again. At least when you do pass everyone will think you did it first time!

Theory Test Secrets

Passing the theory test is not hard as many think, but some help is definitely needed. Here is an article I wrote about the little secrets of the theory test.

Secrets on How to Pass the Driving Theory Test

A lot of us know how to drive even before we think of getting our driving licenses. However, one thing that you must know is that for you to pass your driving test, you must not only know how to drive, but must also be able to pass the driving theory test. It is not enough for you to know how to turn the steering well and press the brakes. It is necessary that you know and understand the Highway Code and other non-exciting topics.

The test has got two parts; and passing each of these parts requires that you prepare well for the examination. You cannot expect to do much if at all you are not properly prepared for it. You can be sure of that.

Studying For the Test

When you are studying for the driving theory test, do not make it to be as if you are studying a language that you do not understand. One of the biggest problems that people have when they are preparing for such an exam is that they tend to struggle so much to memorize things that seemingly do not make sense. But one thing that I would advise people is that they should treat this topic like they would their friend.

Do you struggle to remember the name of your friend? Or if a song is interesting, do you struggle to get the tune?

The same mind that remembers the tune of a song that you have just heard, or the name of a firebrand politician who supports your views, is the same brain that needs to remember the details of the driving theory lessons. It all requires that you have an interest and a desire to learn: not seeing it as a necessary evil.

Passing the driving test is something that so many people yearn for. However, what most of them fail to realize that if one is filled with fear during the driving test, one cannot achieve much. If you want to pass your driving test, you must be able to master your fear. You can read more from this driving test guide for more information.

Pass the Theory Test Easily

The theory test is the last obstacle before getting behind the wheel, which makes it important to pass as soon as possible. Mark J Emslie gives some advice for the confused drive who wants to pass the first time.

Driving Theory Tests - Practical Advice and Top Tips For Passing Your DSA Theory Test

Driving theory tests were introduced in the Uk in 1996. You must take, and pass, the DSA Theory Test (Driving Standards Agency) before you can apply for, and take, your practical driving test. The driver theory test became harder in recent years as, in addition to the multiple choice part of the test, you are now also tested on hazard perception (since November 2002) and both parts need to be passed at the same time. Also, since the 1st September 2007, the pass mark for the multiple choice has been raised to 44 out of 50 questions (30/35).

As a qualified driving instructor, for many years I have seen many pupils struggle with the driver theory test side of learning to drive. Here are my tips and advice for passing your theory test as painlessly and as quickly as possible.

Don't wait until you have had driving lessons before starting your study. Both the theory test studying and practical driving lessons go hand in hand. You will find that the knowledge you have gained from your theory test study will help with your driving lessons and actually driving on the roads will help you learn things for your theory test.

Start learning for your DSA theory test as soon as you can. The last thing you want is to get your driving to driving test standard but you cannot take your practical test as you are still trying to successfully pass your driver theory test. This will also be a waste of money whilst you are continuing with your driving lessons.

You cannot take for your driver theory test before your 17th birthday but you can make a theory test booking beforehand. Use this time to study the learning materials you have.

Apart from simply reading the Highway Code, it is imperative that you also use other training material available. The Highway Code will tell you the rules but will not provide the reasons behind them. If you know the background to why you should, or shouldn't, do something then this will make the whole process easier to understand. If you have access to a computer, you really should get some of the CD ROMs that are available. You will then get a feel for how the Hazard Perception Test will be when you get to the test centre and therefore more prepared for what is ahead.

You have 57 minutes to complete the multiple choice part of the theory test. Use this wisely. Flag questions that you are not sure of and come back to them at the end. You will be surprised at the amount of time you will have left over after completing the questions you definitely know. Do not 'speed read' the questions. It can be very easy to read what you want to read rather than what is actually on the computer screen. Read the questions at least twice and do it slowly.

On the day of your DSA theory test, make sure you have all the required documents to hand. You will need your full driving licence (both parts) and your appointment card. If you have the old style paper licence, you will also need to take an acceptable form of identity.

Remember this, driving theory tests are simple if you have undertaken appropriate preparation and study. If you have skimped on this, you will find any driver theory test hard!
