Super Slowness

If there is something I can't stand, it's people who drive below the speed limit for no reason when I'm unable to pass. It just drives me insane when this happens, and then even the calmest music in the radio won't help.

I really don't know why people do this. I can understand it if there's a hill and the car is old, but I can't understand it on a perfectly flat road with a car from the last couple of years.

Whenever this happens, I wait anxiously for the broken line in the middle of the road. It's my signal to pass or prepare to pass. I just can't go 60 km/h when the law allows 80.

Hopefully next week, my birthday week, driver's won't be so annoying.

The Two Car Rule

Today I want to talk about something that really irritates me and teach you a valuable rule along the way. This is one of the most important driving rules of all time.

The two car rule says this: if one car passes you from the right, you may be driving too slowly. If two cars pass you from the right, change lanes, you're delaying traffic. Simple and elegant rule.

Too many people don't know about this rule, and this causes them to drive slowly on the left lane, which is the fast lane. With some more traffic IQ the would have realized that choosing the right lane is not a shame, it's the right thing to do.

Two Lanes, Too Slow

Once again, people try to annoy me with annoying driving maneuvers, and they succeed. This time is once again slow drivers driving by each other.

This annoying thing causes a 90 km/h two-lane road become a 60-70 km/h road, and passing is impossible (they block both lanes). There is nothing that can be done about it. Honking won't help, flashing the headlights won't help (and it's illegal), and becoming generally annoyed won't help.

What will help? Being patient. Eventually they'll figure out that they're blocking the road and delaying traffic. Well, hopefully they'll figure this out.

Slowers, Again

Today I took another one of my regular Saturday drives, and this one happened to be on a two-way road with one lane going in each direction. I thought I am going for another fun drive (I like this road), but instead I found the worst: slowers.

What are slowers? Those are people who drive slowly enough to make every driver mad. And they cannot be passed. There is either a solid line or oncoming cars, and I had to drive for some time after them in speeds below the speed limit. Yes, that's how annoying they are.

Why aren't the police doing anything? All they do is chasing people who go 10km/h above the speed limit.

Slow-Drive Ban

Oh, finally. Traffic cops are finally doing their job and banning slow drivers from the road. Slow driving can be as dangerous as fast driving, and sometimes even more.

However, those facts didn't stop an 83 year old pensioner from driving 10 mph(!) at a 60 mph road(!). Yes, 50 miles per hour (80 km/h!!) under the speed limit. Luckily, police officers caught him and banned him from driving.

The reason for his slow driving was his vision. He can see license plates from only 3 meters, and the law requires 20.5 meters. Due to that limit his license was voided and we all have relatively safer roads now.
