February, the month with fewest posts in the year, is here, and to start it well, here is an article with some tips to get you started.
Are you going to take your road test soon? Do you want to get your driver's license? You
'll need to practice for at least an hour a day. You need to feel comfortable behind the wheel. You must practice with an individual who can provide you with the information you need to be a good driver.
The DMV guidebook doesn't provide you with the details and secrets you need for passing the road test - only the written test. Fortunately, you can find the resources you need for getting your driver's license online: videos, secrets, checklists, etc.
Here are some tips to help you get started with your practice:
- Before you begin driving, adjust the driver's seat and mirrors. You should sit in the driver's seat correctly. Put your seatbelt on and make sure everyone else in the vehicle has their seatbelts on.
- Do a safety routine every day before you start your practice driving. Check the inside and outside the vehicle. Everything should be working correctly. Even if you think that everything's in working order, you still don't want to take any chances.
- Never put too much focus on one thing. Your eyes should be scanning everything around you. Put an equal amount of focus what other drivers are doing as well as what you are doing. Beginners have the habit of staring at their hands on the wheel. You'll have to get out of this habit if you want to pass. If you know what is going on around you, you won't taken by surprise if another driver makes a mistake.
- Speaking of keeping an eye on other drivers, you must always anticipate them making a mistake. Always prepare yourself to make a defensive move. DON'T make the move unless you have to, but prepare for it all the same.
- Never get too close to the vehicle in front of you - especially if it's a large truck. Try to keep a four-second distance between you and the vehicle in front of you as often as you can. If they're going below the speed limit, wait until it's safe to pass them up. DO NOT get too close to them.
- Don't ever get in a hurry and speed. If you go too fast, you will be at risk for getting a ticket or WORSE. In case of an emergency, try to stay as close to the speed limit as possible. You don't want to end up in an accident yourself because you were going too fast. You especially don't want to go beyond the speed limit during your driving test.
As long as you keep these guidelines in mind, you should be able to prepare for your driving test without any problems.
