Don't Smoke and Drive

Six months ago, a study found that using marijuana before driving has a very little effect on the driver. However, the study was in Connecticut. Colorado, on the other hand, wants to limit the use of the drug before driving.

The Colorado government wants to set a threshold for THC, the active chemical of marijuana, which will define what is "stoned" and what is not. Drivers caught with concentrations above this threshold will be considered "driving while stoned".

Please notice that it's illegal to drive under the influence of drugs in Colorado (and generally across the US), but this law will help officers to determine whether a driver is "high" or not, since the situation right now is vague.

Hopefully the new laws will save some lives.
