Some people pass their driving test on the first try. Some on the second. Fewer on the third. Some don't do it even on their sixteenth time. Last year, two people took the driving test sixteen times, and one failed.
According to Britain's DSA, only the passing rate for the first time is 45%. That's right, less than half the people pass on the first time. 25% pass on the second time, which makes it a nice 70% passing rate for the first two tests, but leaves 30% for the others, which can go as high as 16 tests and beyond.
A driving test guide will get you in the happy 45% if you follow it well. If you don't, don't be surprised if you find yourself in the bottom 30%.
