Insurance companies are not the most sympathetic institutions in the world. The less you have, the more you have to pay them. This is especially true for teens who just passed their test.
For example, M&S insurance company simply terminated a contract to a guy named Mike Ford (17) because he passed his driving test. Why? Because now he's a big risk.
Insurance companies usually bump up the cost of the policy for new drivers, but abandoning a driver and leaving him uninsured is something new. Hopefully they will get themselves together and realize that doing this only harms them.
Hopefully everything will be OK for Ford.
