Of course, the examiner knows pretty well that he cannot expect the same level of thoroughness from you that he expects from someone who has driven for a long time. For this reason, if you do not have a grasp of the basics, such as braking, turning, and so on, you will definitely not be able to get what you are looking for.

Pessimistic Scots

When it comes to driving, it turns out that Scots are very pessimistic about their abilities. A recent survey has discovered that 60% of drivers in Scotland believe that they will fail a driving test if they had to take it now.

Also, it turns out that more than third of them broke the speed limit in a 30 mph (50 km/h) zone. Well, they should come to the city near me. No one goes at the speed limit there.

I believe the drivers who say they're not going to pass. Driving tests require a perfect driving session, something most of us never think about. Everyone forgets to signal, speeds a little (or a lot), or just drives without any intention to do so legally. Passing a test after having the license is very difficult.

Hopefully the actual figures are smaller, but no one will ever know until such tests are actually conducted.

It's a Hyundai

Well, the decision has been finally made. It's a new Hyundai i20 Inspire, the basic model. However, I managed to get some added features that this model doesn't usually include for free.

Actually, I went to the dealership yesterday and the deal isn't closed yet, but it should be done on Wednesday (Passover is here...). The car itself should arrive in about two or three weeks.

Finally, full independence with a brand new car. I wish everyone could have this feeling.

Driving Test May Return to Louth

After being shut down in February, Louth's driving center may return to work soon. A local leisure center may be used as a temporary DSA, so residents of Louth will be able to take their tests there.

Since the closure, Louth residents had to take their test somewhere else, which cost them time and money. Now they'll be able to take the test closer to home, which will definitely help them get their license.

New Learning Rules in Ireland

Ireland is giving a overhaul to its driving rules. From now on, a learner driver will have to keep a logbook of lessons and have 12 hours of tuition before being able to apply for the practical test.

Still No Car in the Horizon

After looking for a few weeks, I still haven't found a car that I can purchase. However, the options are being limited as you read this, and I'm much closer to my car than two weeks ago.

Apparently, the car will be a new one and a fuel-saving one. Gas prices are super-high here, so I need a car that won't burn all my cash when I start it. It still requires some work, but I think I'll eventually find one.
