More Common Failure Mistakes

Failure in the driving test is not the end of the world, but it's still very frustrating. Here is an article I wrote with some tips about lowering the chance of failing.

8 Common Mistakes Student Drivers Need to Avoid In Order to Pass Their Driving Exam!

If you are trying to prepare for your driving test, it's important that you know which mistakes to avoid so that you pass with flying colors. Even if you practice every day, you still might make some mistakes during the test. When practicing, many student drivers put focus on what they should do rather than what they shouldn't be doing. Learning about common mistakes other student drivers make will make it easier for you to pass your test!
Here are some of those mistakes:

1. Forgetting the controls. It's common for beginner drivers to mistake controls. Familiarize yourself with every single control and know exactly where they're all located in the vehicle you will be tested in.

2. Forgetting to slow down at the appropriate times. Always make sure that you are going the speed limit unless you are preparing for a stop. Whenever you change lines, go at the same speed as the surrounding drivers.

3. Staring at your hands or the wheel. Don't worry about your hands. Make sure they are positioned properly on the wheel but keep your eyes on the road. Your eyes should be constantly scanning the road in front of you, to your left, and to your right. Don't forget to look in the rearview mirror to check behind you regularly as well.

4. Braking too hard is one of the biggest mistakes made by beginner drivers. Always be careful when braking. Take your foot from the accelerator as early as possible. Slowly press down on the brake. Coast lightly before you come to a stop.

5. Making unsafe lane changes. Don't forget to use the right signal! When changing lanes, check the mirrors and look over your shoulder to check for blind spots. Make sure it's safe and clear before switching lanes.

6. Being overly cautious. Although it's always important to be cautious, you shouldn't be TOO cautious to the point where you aren't feeling confident. It's important to be confident and drive the speed limit. You will lose points for being too slow. Also, take the right of way when it is yours!

7. Failing to yield. When you're at the stop light, and want to turn left, you need to yield to oncoming traffic, unless you have a green arrow. Even if there is a green arrow, you should still make sure that no other vehicles are approaching before you enter the intersection.

8. Not being prepared. Most driving test mistakes occur because the student just isn't prepared. Get all of the practice you can get with a responsible adult driver.. Read tips and guides online. Take practice quizzes.

There are plenty of helpful resources for student drivers online. You can read driving test guides and take practice quizzes! Online driving courses are well put together and easy to understand.

Getting your driver's license is not that hard. If you would like to pass your driving test without trying so hard, you should get yourself this amazing driving test guide.
