Night Drives

In the past few weeks I've started to do some night driving every Saturday night. As you already know, I'm a big fan of driving at night. Traffic is thin, traffic lights can be seen from a distance, and they're usually green.

The only problem, as usual, is gas. Those night drives require a great distance of driving, which means lots of gas. It's much better than the alternative, but still a small pain.

Hopefully those prices will go down soon, so it'll be a smaller pain. Unfortunately, half the gas price is tax, so there's a limit to the downside.

What to Remember for the Test

The driving test can be nerve wrecking, but if you remember some important facts, you will do just fine.

Student drivers often feel nervous about their upcoming test. They are afraid that the examiner will intimidate them. You need to understand that they are just doing their job and they'e hoping you will pass. You're the one who has to prove that you are a safe and competent driver. It’d be dangerous for them to let somebody out on the road who can't prove their competence.

The only way to prepare is to study and PRACTICE! Driving is more than just handling a vehicle. You must learn how to keep an eye on the road. Always know what the other drivers are doing or about to do. Know what all of the signals and signs mean.

As long as you can remember to do the following during your road exam, you should (hopefully) be able to pass:

1. Before you even leave the parking lot with your examiner, look in every single direction to make sure that your path is clear. There should be no pedestrians, vehicles, or any other obstacle. Also, don't forget to signal properly when you're pulling out. Make sure you know what all of the signals do and how to use them.

2. Keep your eye on the speed limit for the entire test. Always stay as close to the limit as possible, unless you're driving on ice, or the person in front of you is going too slowly. If you're in a passing zone, pass them if the other lane is clear.

3. Whenever you reach a STOP sign, slow down and then STOP. Don't roll through it. This is a mistake that many student drivers make. At a STOP sign, you're supposed to stop all the way - even if everything looks clear, you still need to stop for at least five seconds, depending on where you live.

4. Remember to always check mirrors when changing lanes. There should be no other vehicles at your side or behind you. Also, use the right signals.

5. Whenever a light turns green, proceed carefully. When it's yellow, prepare to stop. Never go through the light when it's yellow - especially when you're taking your test. You might lose points for it. Yellow doesn't actually mean "go through slowly", it means "slow down and stop before the light turns red".

6. You will have to prove that you know how to parallel park. This doesn't have to be a difficult feat just as long as you practiced beforehand. If you're asked to park the car on an incline, remember to turn the front wheels toward the curb

Practice all of these tips before you begin your test, and your test shouldn't be hard at all. You should also feel confident. Good luck!

Increase your chances of passing the test by checking out online guides. You will find secrets that will help you pass without any problems. Take what you learn from online student driving courses and use the knowledge to help you pass the written and road tests.

Getting your driver's license is not that hard. If you would like to pass your driving test without trying so hard, you should get yourself this amazing driving test guide.

Save on Senior Auto Insurance

If you are a senior you may have some special options available for you when shopping for insurance. Here is an article by Ferd Lynge about these possibilities.

How Seniors Can Save On Auto Insurance

The majority of senior citizens have stayed with their insurers for many years because quite simply, familiarity is reassuring. However, the auto insurance arena has become more competitive. Insurance firms compete for the patronage of seniors by offering discounts and low insurance premiums, without compromising coverage. Having said such, instead of staying on the same policy or provider, seniors may benefit from checking out deals offered by other firms.

How to get affordable auto insurance for seniors

Shop around

Looking around for affordable insurance products is not as difficult to do these days thanks to the Internet. Price comparison websites let you find insurance firms that offer sufficient coverage with a smaller cash outlay easily and quickly. If you are not very techno-savvy senior, ask a younger member of the family to do this on your behalf.

Look for discounts

Numerous auto insurance companies offer discounts for older drivers, especially those between 50 and 55 years old. Remember though that drivers 75 and older may face higher premiums because this group has one of the highest rates of deadly daytime accidents. To be qualified to receive discounts, much older seniors can enroll in senior driving lessons or drive infrequently.

Drive a low risk car

Some vehicles are more expensive to insure. If you drive a vehicle that is considered low-risk by insurers, you will spend less to insure your car. In addition, you can install safety or security features to your car to shave off a few dollars from your insurance cost.

Avoid tarnishing your driving record

Apart from your choice of vehicle, one of the most important determinants of the cost of your insurance is your driving record. If you are a responsible driver, you will get good driver markdowns. Infractions are assigned points to determine its severity and the risk of covering you. Points can take 3-7 years to diminish based on the seriousness of the violation.

Examine insurance needs

If you can afford it, pay higher deductibles to reduce your premium. You can also drop collision or comprehensive insurance if you own a car that is more than 5 years old or one that has high mileage. Although there are ways to reduce vehicle insurance expenses, as a senior, it would be smart to think about whether you really have to drive at all. If you are already enjoying your retirement, you may no longer have to drive frequently, and it may be better to use those funds elsewhere. Do not equate giving up driving as loss of independence, instead consider it as a means of making the most of your retirement funds.

Sailing My Car

Last week, as I was taking one of my night drives, it rained. Heavily. Rain is usually not a big issue: I slow down and maintain a bigger distance from the car ahead (which wasn't a problem, since there were almost no cars). The problem was the road.

The first fourty kilometers were great, but when I exited the freeway the road became bad and was nearly flooded. I some cases I had to hope that my car will reach the other side of some huge paddles.

When I started going up a mountain, things got worse. The road literally turned into a river and it was impossible to drive on either side.

Eventually I arrived, scared and frozen. I hope today's drive will not be as hard.

What to Focus on For a High Score

When we take the driving test all we want is to pass with a good score. Here is an article about several points to focus on for that score.

There are a number of things you can do to become a good, responsible driver. If you are getting ready for your driving test, you need to have plenty of helpful material, such as maps of the testing area, a checklist of things you'll be tested on, a guide to the rules of the road, etc. You can find all of these online.

For starters, here are some of the skills you'll need to learn and perfect if you want to pass:

1. Pay close attention to the speed limit. Try driving the speed limit as much as possible. It's okay to adjust for weather and road conditions. You need to determine the safest limit to drive in adverse conditions.

2. When you are driving, you need to steer smoothly. Hold the wheel firmly, and be careful not to jerk it. Jerking the steering wheel will cost you some points.

3. You don't want to slam on the brakes, either. You need to gently press down on the brake whenever you are preparing to stop. As long as you don't wait until the last second to stop, you should be able to take your time and slow down the right way.

4. Always keep an eye out for potential hazards on and near the road. Try to anticipate other drivers making a mistake before they make it. If you want to pass the driving test with flying colors, you need to learn how to be a defensive driver.

5. You'll lose a lot of points if you don't signal properly. Always know when to signal. Get in the practice of doing so - even when there is no other driver around to signal to. When you get in the habit of signaling during practice, you won't forget to do so when you take the test.

6. Whenever you make a turn, don't forget to check both ways at least once, just as you would when crossing the road. You'll be surprised at the number of drivers who just barely glance in either direction before rushing through the turn.

7. You need to know how to change lanes properly. Try to remain at the same speed as the other vehicles on the road. Don't make the mistake of slowing down. You need to remain the same speed so that traffic flows smoothly.

8. Practice parking on a daily basis. You shouldn't take your driver's test until you know how to park every which way imaginable: up a hill, down a hill, parallel, etc.

These aren't the only tips you should learn, but they're a start. It's important that you take the tips you learn and apply them to your driving as you prepare for your road exam.

Check out the driving secrets, maps, techniques, and other tips you'll need for passing your road exam. You can get a perfect score on your driving test as long as you prepare and practice! All of the information you need is just a click or two away.

Non-Owner Insurance

In order to drive a car, even if it's not yours, you need insurance. Fortunately, Armond Sefiani was kind enough to write an article about this subject to educate us all.

Getting Cheap Non Owner Auto Insurance

People who don't own a car and usually borrow or rent a car think that they don't need insurance. Many people's assumption is that car owners are the only one that are supposed to take up auto insurance. The truth is you can take car insurance cover even if you do not own a car. This type of insurance is very important for people who borrow or rent a car very often. Non owner insurance is taken in the person's name and is basically cheaper than the conventional car insurance.

Most states require that people who are driving should have some sort of financial capability that allows them to compensate others in case they get into an accident and they are the ones on the wrong. This kind of financial capability will be in form of non owner car insurance. Getting non owner insurance is cheaper than buying on the counter insurance from rental companies. Many rental companies will require you to provide proof of coverage and to avoid paying so much for insurance, just take up the cheap non owner auto insurance.

Having this type of coverage gives you similar benefits as people who own vehicles. The non owner car insurance car insurance covers liability and in that case the insurer will pay for damages caused on another car. It also includes medical expenses in case you are injured in the accident. This type of insurance also covers personal injury protection as well as uninsured or underinsured motorist protection. The non owner car insurance comes into play after the vehicle owner's policy has been ehausted. All the other remaining damages are paid out from the non owner coverage.

Although this type of auto coverage is not widely advertised, most of the insurance companies in the market offer this product. So if you are looking to atke up this option, it will not be hard for you to obtain non owner car insurance quotes. Different insurance companies offer different prices when it comes to insurance policies. So before making a decision it is important to shop around for cheap non owner auto insurance. The variation in price can be less than a hundred dollars a year or upto forty dollars a month. Shopping for quotes is definitely worth the time since it can save you a lot of money.

So if you are looking for non owner car insurance quotes, existing insurance companies can provide you with all the information. Shopping online will help a motorist compare different prices that the insurance companies have to offer and at the end settle for the cheap non owner auto insurance. Apart from the non owner car insurance quotes the motorists are able to compare the different coverage that is available from the different providers. Knowing the different types of coverage offered will help you make the right non owner auto insurance claim and get the compensation you deserve without any hitches. You can prevent huge financial costs by getting the right auto coverage.

It's a repeating topic, but it's always exciting: the rain is back, big time. As you know, rain is not a common sight here, and we're always excited when it finally shows up.

However, there is also the usual downside. Since there has been a long dry spell, the roads are dangerous. Even more, when it actually rains, the speed drops and driving times become longer.

Even though it's not all positive, the rain is a sure sign of a good winter.

Another Re-Run of Errors

When you drive, it's important that you focus on driving well and not on not-making-mistakes. However, it's still important to know some of the big test-killers in order to avoid them.

Preparing for your driving test isn't easy - especially if you've never driven before. If you want to pass, there is a lot you need to learn. You also need to get plenty of practice every day. One of the best ways to learn is to understand the common errors that people make when they fail their test. Obtaining a list of the most common errors is a great way to start. That way, you'll know what to avoid doing right off the bat.

Here are some of the errors you need to avoid making if you want to learn how to drive:

• Forgetting what the controls are for. Don't get the controls mixed up. Familiarize yourself with each and every one of them. Know where they are located and practice using them as you drive.

• Putting too much focus on the wheel. When you're first starting out, you might stare at your hands on the wheel because you're unsure whether or not you're holding it correctly. You need to get over this habit if you want to drive. You need to pay attention to what other drivers are doing as well.

• Not changing lanes correctly and safely. Don't forget to use the signals! When you're changing lanes, always remember to check your blind spots. Check the mirror and look over your shoulder to make sure it's safe to turn.

• Braking too hard is a huge mistake that causes people to fail. You need to be careful when braking. When you switch from the gas pedal to the brake, do so as gently as possible. Coast along lightly as you prepare to stop. As long as you keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you, this shouldn't be too much of a problem.

• Hitting the curb when making a turn. Your turn shouldn't be too wide or too narrow. You can practice making tight turns by positioning boxes or cones on either side of the car. These objects will represent a street. Practice making turns everyday until you are comfortable with the process. When taking an exterior approach, remember to approach the turn as far as to the right as you can.

• Failing to adjust the mirrors to suit YOU. This is one of the first things you need to do. If the mirrors aren't adjusted properly to suit you, you won't be able to drive safely at all. It's essential that you check the mirrors each and every time you get in the vehicle - especially if you're sharing with other people. Only you know how they should be adjusted to suit you. Since you will be scanning the mirrors half the time you're driving, you'll need to be able to see all around you.

As long as you keep these errors in mind when you begin your driving lessons, you'll be able to practice properly. This will increase your chances of passing the road test.

You will find plenty of helpful guides and resources for student drivers on the internet. Print out a checklist of everything you need to learn and take the list with you as you practice driving. Go down the list and make sure you're learning everything. Check into online driving courses in order to access a checklist, practice quizzes, driving secrets, and more.

Getting your driver's license is not that hard. If you would like to pass your driving test without trying so hard, you should get yourself this amazing driving test guide.

Enjoying Cheap Insurance

Cheap car insurance is not easy to come by, but Emma Mallery can show us the way. Here is her article about it.

Ways To Enjoy Cheap Auto Insurance

Perhaps you are looking at your monthly budget and need to cut costs. Cheap auto insurance is a good way to save money and help to make ends meet each month. Here are some ideas that can help you find a lower priced policy and also save money on your current policy.

You may be surprised how many people do not take the time to comparison shop. They may check with one or two companies and then make their decision. It is in your best interest to receive several policy quotes for your car. The process takes much less time than you might think.

Comparing car insurance policies is easy when you use the power of the Internet. First, visit a major search engine and look for companies. When you arrive at a website, look for the section that provides online policy quotes. You may need to enter some basic information about yourself and your vehicle. You will receive a quote in a short amount of time. Repeat this process several times and you have a good idea of what you need to pay.

Some insurers allow you to make monthly or weekly payments on your policy. Others may want the money in two or three payments. Find out this information before you sign up. It may be much easier on your monthly budget to make regular payments. However, you will save monthly service fees if you can pay a six month policy in one lump sum.

Most drivers are aware that they can cut costs by opting for a higher deductible. However, this is something that you need to think about. Check your finances carefully and if you cannot come up with the deductible amount, you may be without transportation for some time. It is not a bargain if you cannot afford it in the long run.

You can often find cheap car insurance without looking at other companies. Many car insurers have special rates for customers that insure their homes and lives with them. It is easy to find out if your company has special offers. Simply contact your current agent and talk to him or her about policy consolidations. This can cut a considerable amount from your total policy charges.

If you are new car shopping, research the cost of insuring before you buy. Most people do not contact an insurer until they have already purchased another car. This can sometimes be a costly mistake. Some vehicles are much more expensive to insure than others. However, unless you take the time to check this out, you may never know. When you compare policy quotes, include quotes on different kinds of vehicles. This provides car shoppers with valuable information.

There are many ways that one can save money with cheap auto insurance. However, the lowest policy premium may not always be the best deal. Make sure that you choose a company that has top quality claims and customer service. It does little good to save money on premiums if you have a lot of problems getting your car repaired.

Emma Mallery is an online article and website writer who has long experience in giving helpful information to readers of just any topics.

Yet Another Set of Tips

It's Friday once more, and as usual it's tip time. Here is this week's set.

If you want to pass your driving test and get your license, you need to get plenty of practice everyday. Even though everybody wants to pass on their first try, only about 50% of people actually do so. This is because they mistakenly think they're prepared when they're actually not. A few hours of practice driving here and there aren't enough. You need to practice for as often as you are allowed to every single day. You need to read all of the study material you can get a hold of.

Fortunately, there are some online guides and tools to help you prepare every step of the way, from the written test to the actual road exam.

If you're unsure where to begin, here are some tips to help you:

• The very first thing you need to do is familiarize yourself with the vehicle you will be practicing in. You need to know where all of the controls and switches are located, and how to use them. During the road exam, you may even be asked by the examiner to show him/her the location of some of the controls to prove that you know where they are located.

• Know when to use the brakes, and how to use them properly. Pressing on the brakes too hard is a bad habit among new drivers. Gently and slowly pressing down on the brakes is ideal, unless you're in an emergency situation. You will lose points on your test if you switch to the brake from the gas too quickly.

• Make sure you're getting enough time to practice everyday. You should be doing something every single day, whether it's practicing parallel parking or simply trying to get comfortable behind the wheel. Put your driving practice first. It might take awhile before you're a confident (and competent) driver, but you will be as long as you practice and take your time.

• Do you know what all of the lights are for? What about signs? Just because the light is green doesn't necessarily mean you can go, depending on the other vehicles around you. Always keep an eye on the other drivers in front of you, beside, you, behind you, and opposite you before doing anything.

• If you haven't already done so, sign up for a driving course. Some courses are available online. It's important that you have experts who can provide you with assistance and advice. You'll increase your chances of passing if you have professionals who offer you encouragement. They'll help you to understand your mistakes, and what you can do to make improvements so that you can pass the test.

These tips will help you get started on your practicing. Even if you do end up failing, you can learn from your mistakes. It won't be the end of the world - you can just practice some more and try again.

Did you know that you can find driving test secrets online? There are driving courses available on the internet. You will find guides, practice quizzes, drawings, and more to help you pass your driver's test

Getting your driver's license is not that hard. If you would like to pass your driving test without trying so hard, you should get yourself this amazing driving test guide.

I hope these tips helped you,
