No Truck Luck

Trucks are a vital part of our life. They carry cargo from one end of the country to another, and without them we'll have a hard time living. However, with them, we have a hard time driving.

Imagine this situation - you drive on a freeway with two lanes going in each direction. There are two trucks one after the other on the right lane, and you approach them from the left to pass safely. Suddenly, the truck behind signals left and moves to your lane, in order to pass the other truck.

Now you're stuck. You can't pass, and the two trucks have a speed difference of about 3 km/h (2 mph), which makes the overtake very long. Meanwhile you have to drive slowly behind the passing truck.

This happens too often here, and nothing is being done about it. When the road is relatively empty, no car should go 30 km/h below the speed limit, but the trucks make it happen. Really annoying.

Hopefully it'll end soon, or I'll just try avoiding those truck-filled roads.

Have a great weekend!
