First Time Driving: Miranda

Driving is dangerous. Letting a teenager drive for the first time is even more dangerous. Miranda takes it to extremes. I won't be very surprised if her father needed a time to calm down after this experience.

This video was uploaded earlier this Month, so Miranda still has a long way to go before getting her license. Hopefully she'll remember where the brakes are by then.

Good luck!

Forgetful and Dangerous

Dementia is a serious illness that requires reporting to the RTA (Australia's DMV). However, many people never report it in fear of losing their license.

In that case, there are many people that no one can trust their cognitive abilities in an emergency on the road, and the situation will worsen as the population ages. There have been many calls to change the driving test to "catch" those with dementia, but nothing has been done so far.

The RTA will now look into this problem, and hopefully only mentally healthy people will be on the road.

A Long List of Tips

Tips are an integral part of this blog. There has not been a week without them, and as long as this blog continues to exist, there won't be any. Today Darren Hirst has his list of tips published here, and it's a very long list.

How to Pass Your Driving Test

Are you looking for tips on how to pass your driving test? This article provides some helpful tips to ensure your driving test is a success. Read on for more information.

Most people find the practical driving test one of the most daunting experiences in their lives, therefore, to help you with how to pass your driving test successfully, please see our top tips below:

• Remain Calm - Before the test begins take a deep breath, forget about your anxieties and have complete focus on your driving. If you take your time and do not rush, you will have a better chance of passing. You and your driving instructor know you can do it you just need to control your nerves!

• Remember the Cockpit Drill - Make sure you get off to a great start and show the examiner that you know what to do every time you get into a car. This means making adjustments to the mirrors, seats and steering. Get yourself comfortable for the test as this will contribute to your success!

• Be Observant - Keep your eyes on the road and remember to watch out for any potential hazards throughout your test. Remember to not turn to look at the examiner to ask questions or seek clarification.

• Remember the Mirrors - Throughout the test, remember to glance in your mirrors every now and again to show that you are assessing the situation on the road.

• Read the Road Signs - Make sure you watch out for any road signs and that you follow these throughout your test. When you need to stop, ensure you do so in plenty of time.

• Use the Indicators - Be sure to always use your indicators when you make any left or right turns or when you are preparing to pull in or out.

There are many other tips that you might find useful to do when preparing for your driving test:

• Homework - On many occasions pupils will get inside a car and spend 15 to 20 minutes refreshing their memory on what they were doing on the previous lesson. Ensure you reflect on what you learn following a lesson and understand what you have done. This will help on the next lesson.

• Mock Test - If you carry out a mock test with your driving instructor, this will show whether you can drive fluently and carry out the required manoeuvres to the required standard. If the mock test is conducted in the same way as an actual test, it will help you learn how to control your nerves during the actual test.

• Practice - Driving lessons cost a lot of money and learning to drive is about gaining experience, therefore, in between driving lessons with a driving instructor, why not have some lessons with parents or other suitably qualified people whenever possible. This could help you pick up the techniques with manoeuvres as practice makes perfect!

• Drive on all Road Types - It is important to be able to drive on all road types and not to limit your practice to the local test centre route. Variety is important when learning to drive and you need to be completely confident on all road types and at various speeds.

• Driving Conditions - when having driving lessons it is important to drive in as many road conditions as possible. Try to have lessons at different times of the day because your test could take place during the middle of the school run or when the roads are quieter so it would be wise to ensure you have experience of both. Also experience in the rain, dry, day and night would be extremely beneficial to you.

Following our tips prior and during your driving test will result in a successful pass. If you are looking for a driving instructor, why not contact us at Just Driving and we can allocate you a driving instructor to suit your needs and give you the help and support you need when preparing for your driving test.

Lane Hogs Strike Again

It's getting common, and it doesn't get less annoying. Lane hogs, the ones that drive on the left lane while making sure there is no way to pass them on the right, are on the rise. And they are more annoying than ever.

It's really not that hard to drive on the right lane. However, it seems really hard for some drivers. They just won't move away, regardless of their really annoying speed. Someone has to do something about this.

Until then, try to remain calm.

Find the Cheapest Auto Insurance

Cheap auto insurance is not an easy thing to find. However, some websites will let you see which companies offer the cheapest insurance for your car. Here is an article I wrote about it.

Find Out Which Companies Offer the Cheapest Auto Insurance

The internet can be used for anything these days, including analyzing insurance quotes. If you want the cheapest auto insurance possible then you can use the internet as a means for getting it. Depending on your driving history, you may be qualified for cheap insurance. The cleaner your record is, the more options you'll have.

All you have to do is visit an insurance quote site, and read about all your options. You can do so by filling out a questionnaire that asks questions about your vehicle type, past violations or accidents, state, the type of coverage you're looking for, budget, etc.

Since premiums can vary from person to person, the cheapest auto insurance for some of your friends may not be the same for you. By requesting quotes on the internet, you will see every available option listed right in front of you. You will then have an idea about what you can expect from most insurance companies.

It's important that you read about each company before selecting a quote. Some companies claim to offer the cheapest auto insurance although they really don't. Read reviews from other consumers to find out whether or not any particular company is known for ripping people off.

Keep in mind that sometimes the best companies and plans have a mixture of positive and negative reviews. Event the best insurance has a downside, and just as long as the number of positive reviews is higher than the number of negative ones, then you should at least request more information from that particular plan. Finding the cheapest auto insurance possible doesn't have to be hard or complicated, all it takes is a little searching and reading!

Never settle for anything beyond your budget. If you can only afford so much, then you need to look for the cheapest auto insurance you can find. For any problem you may be facing with your current insurance company, you will find solutions online in your quest to find the cheapest auto insurance you can get.

Hope you found this article useful,

Feel Like a Drunk Driver

If you want to show someone how dangerous it is to drive drunk, take him to the SIDNE, the go-kart that demonstrates the reactions of drunk drivers.

The slow car goes only 10-15 mph, but this is enough for people who are "impaired". The "impaired mode" shows exactly how it feels like driving drunk, and it's not a good feeling.

Driving Test Study Tips

Studying for the driving test can be done by only one way: practicing. However, you can take this word to many directions, and Alexander O Mcgee has some tips to help you focus your studying.

Tips to Study For a Driving Test

If you are looking for a driving license, you must pass the driving test. Passing a driving test can be easy for some people, but sometimes it can also become a difficult task for others. For that reason, these are going to give you some tips to study for a driving test.

The first thing that you can do is to take an education course for driver. It is found that in some states, those who are taking a driver education course can get their diving license at earlier age than those who do not follow the formal driving course. From this course, you will know about the laws of driving, the practical of road experience, and you will also get study skills.

Secondly, it is really suggested for you to read the handbook for driver for more than only once in a way to study all of the regulations and rules that you have to keep in your memory. If you find difficult session, you need to go over it for several times until you fully understand about it.

Thirdly, you can ask your friends or family to give you some quizzes related to driving. This can help you to measure your driving knowledge. If you can answer many questions that are asked by your friends or family, you can be sure that you are ready for the test. If not, you still have time to study more about driving.

Lastly, before you are taking your driving test, it is better for you to practice driving with your parent or other family members. Make sure that you know well how to drive safely so that you will easily pass on your driving test.

One of the most important equipment for any drivers while driving on the road is called radar detector. If you want to know more about this beneficial equipment, you can check out http://wirelessradardetectors.org/ which provide you more information about solo radar detector.

Here Comes the Summer Sun

Yes, it's only April now, but it doesn't stop the sun from burning our skin and boiling our cars. Entering a car this day can be quite dangerous, especially if you are heavily dressed.

This super-hot sun doesn't only make the car really hot, it also makes it impossible to drive. Touching the steering wheel requires a few minutes of cooling, and getting used to the heat also takes a few minutes. Driving during the summer can be as hard as driving in the rain.

Scotland Driving Tips

Driving test tips can be found easily in this blog, but Chris Cornell has some more to add here. Here are his tips.

Driving Test Tips to Pass the Exam

Passing the driving test is the only option to getting a valid driving license. The road and transport department specifies the types of test which consists of a series of theoretical and on the road test to gauge the students ability drive safe and not pose danger to others while on the road. Theoretical test includes lectures on basic rules and regulation of in that country, road signs recognition, and basic car maintenance knowledge. On the road test is aimed at testing student's ability to follow traffic rules, gauge student's reaction at any circumstances and ability to handle the car well.

Test specification may differ from one country to another. Following are various tests which all students must pass before being able to drive here legally.

Firstly, students must attend a five hours road safety course conducted by in house trainer from road and transport department. Here, all students are expected to learn about basic traffic rules and being able to identify all traffic signage. A booklet pertaining all subject matters will be handed out to students for reference.

After that, a written test ensues. There are forty five objectives questions only and students are only allowed a maximum of four mistakes to pass it. Therefore, a throughout reading and understanding of the booklet is utmost necessary. This test must be passed before student is allowed to proceed.

Next is the road test which requires all students to take certain hours of lessons. Training instructor will guide you through an open road test and a series uphill downhill driving, three point turns, and reverse parking. The car comes only with manual transmission therefore it required some getting used to.

A test ensues after completion of the training. The course of the test is similar to the ones used for the training. Therefore students must be well versed with the course layout and the vehicle especially the transmission before proceeding to take this final test.
Upon completion of all the tests, a driving license will be issued.

At the end, I'd like to share cool website with more information on topics like driving lessons Glasgow. Visit for more details.

A List of Great Tips

Once again it's Friday, the time for the weekly driving tips article. This time the tips are not detailed like usual, but they can be easily understood.

Best Driving Tips For Passing and Getting Your Driver's License!

Getting prepared for your driver's test isn't easy, nor is the test itself; however, if you prepare yourself thoroughly enough, you will be able to pass without any problems. The trick is to prepare yourself mentally, emotionally, and physically for the big day. Keep in mind that half of student drivers fail on their first try, and you can be one of the 50% that DOESN'T fail if you study and practice enough. If you have already taken it and failed, you can spare yourself the disappointment and embarrassment in the future by preparing yourself better this time.

There are plenty of resources and tools online that will help student drivers in every state. It's important to look over these resources and to utilize the tools that are designed to help you learn. You must learn all the rules of the road in your state in order to pass. Since the laws vary, you need to look for resources that focus on your state. Also, practice each and every day with a responsible, mature driver that you can trust. This person should be somebody who will give you constructive criticism without yelling or having a panic attack over every mistake you make!

Here you will find a few tips that will help you on the day of your driving test:

· Make sure you arrive at the DMV with a vehicle that is in excellent condition.
· Try your best to remain calm and focused, even when you make mistakes.
· If you are unsure of any instructions, don't be afraid to ask the examiner to repeat them.
· Always keep your hands on the wheel properly.
· Always know how to signal correctly, and when.
· Know all the ins and outs of the vehicle.
· Don't forget to bring your insurance information with you on test day!

Following all of these tips will help you out during the driver's test. Make sure you understand all of the rules and laws. Take advantage of online driving guides, practice tests, tools, and software. Watch how-to videos and learn all you can about driving! And, most importantly, apply what you learn when you practice driving so that you will get the hang of everything. You will then have enough confidence and knowledge to easily pass both the written and driver's road tests!

Check out some good online driving study guides to learn all you can about driving. Learn as much as you can and put that knowledge to use when you practice driving. Knowing driving test secrets will help you pass with flying colors!

I hope these tips helped you get one step closer to your license. Of course, to make the big leap, you need the driving test guide.

Want to Pass? Know Where to Live

What's your chance of passing the driving test in Ireland? Of course, if you are well prepared, you will probably pass, but statistics never lies. The overall passing rate is 51.8% (that's it!). However, this is not even close to the actual rates of specific RSA offices.

The Rathgar office in Dublin has the worst passing rates in Ireland. Only 30.6% of the people taking their test there pass, probably because of a tricky test route.

However, if you take the test in Sligo, your chances are more than doubled: 67.1%. This difference is, once again, due to the test route. An urban test is much more difficult. It's harder to handle city traffic during rush hour, and much easier to handle quiet areas with little traffic.

If you have a driving test guide, your chances will increase regardless of your test office. Try it.

Tips From a Driving Instructor

Not every day you find a list of tips written by a person who owns a website about becoming a driving instructor. But today James Culvers was chosen to have his article in this blog. Read and learn.

8 Tips to Help You Pass Your Driving Test the First Time

When learning to drive, and ultimately taking your test, take heed of these 8 tips and your chances of passing the test first time will improve dramatically.

1. The most important thing you can do is invest in worthwhile driving lessons. Do no automatically choose the cheapest lessons you can find. Usually something is cheap for a reason. Choose lessons based on quality and reputation. Try to get recommendations from previous customers, and have a chat with the instructors to get a feel for them before handing over any money.

2. Clarify with the driving school exactly how long each lesson is. Does it include pick up time? Paperwork? How much time are you actually going to spend learning. Ten minutes here and there can add up to some major lost learning time.

3. Where possible avoid a trainee instructor. Whilst it is true that instructors need to gain experience before becoming fully qualified, you stand the best chance of passing your test if you take lessons form an experience driving instructor. You are paying money so you should get the best tuition for that money.

4. Check the condition of the car that the instructor uses. You want a reliable, and average car to get an accurate feel of how to drive. Remember that when you do your test, it is more than likely to be held in a different car to the one you learnt in. Try to get some experience driving different cars.

5. Do your pre test preparation properly, that means studying your theory book, and getting friends and family to test you. The better prepared you are, the easier your theory test will be.

6. Apply to take your theory test as soon as you begin lessons. Its best to get the theory test done and out of the way, so you can concentrate on the actually driving.

7. Keep your lessons regular. It is proven that regular lessons is the best way to learn. Intensive courses have higher failure rates as you are trying to cram in too much in too short a period of time. If you spread the lessons out over too long a period of time, you will waste too much time reacquainting yourself with what your learnt previously, rather than learning new things.

8. Have one last practice lesson right before your test. This will build confidence, and really does help with the pass rate.

I enjoy writing about lots of different subjects. To read my latest work on how to become a driving instructor and information on the driving instructor training you can visit my website.

The Value of Inflated Tires

Your car, or actually any car, has only four contact points with the road. They're called tires. Making sure they are properly inflated will guarantee good contact with the road, which means safety. However, properly inflated tires also increase gas mileage due to less "wasted" friction with the road. Here is a video that explains that topic.

Being a Passenger

There is only one person in this world I completely trust when it comes to driving - me. When I'm a passenger, I have less control, especially when it comes to drivers who are new or just don't know how to drive.

These drivers exist. They are everywhere. When someone gives me a ride, there is always the fear that he or she will drive so bad that I'll get sick. It happens to me often, and it's one of the worst feelings in the world.

Luckily, most of the time I drive or ride with people I trust, so this doesn't happen too often. But when it happens, I regret the second I stepped into that nausea car.

How to Learn Everything

In order to be a good driver and pass the driving test, you need to know everything about driving well. There are a few ways to do it. Here is an article I wrote about this topic.

Online Driver's Study Guide - What Can You Do to Learn All You Need to Know For Passing Your Test?

In order to drive, you will need to take a written driver's test, road exam, and you will have to pass them both! It will take a lot of studying and practicing to develop the skills needed for passing. The steps can be very confusing, and you will undoubtedly feel nervous and maybe even stressed. However, you can't let the stress get to you. You need to be as calm and centered as possible when taking the test so that you will make fewer mistakes.

Since the rules vary in every state, you need to visit your state's DMV site to learn what is required from you. Also, visit social networking sites and interact with others in your area who can give you tips and advice. You can learn a lot from teachers and other student drivers. There are some practice tests you can take on the internet as well. Take these to help prepare for both your written and road test. The practice questions will help you learn about the rules of the road and what you should do in various circumstances.

The written test probably won't be all that hard. Even if you fail the first time, all you have to do is study a bit more and try again later on. Once you pass it, you can begin learning how to drive with an adult over 25. Practice every day, if you can. Start off slowly on empty streets and don't move on to crowded roads until you start to get the hang of everything.

Practice driving with somebody who will offer you good advice and who genuinely wants to help you learn. This person should be somebody who will be attentive and offer advice when you need it, without going overboard and making you feel bad. The person with whom you practice will play a part in how prepared and calm you are doing the test. You need to get used to being in the car with a responsible adult so that you will be less nervous when driving with the examiner come test time.

Look over an online driving guide to get all the information you need! You can pass on your first try if you take the time to study the best guides. You should also take some practice driving tests on the internet. Taking them will help prepare you for your actual driver's test!

Hope you learned something,
